Synopsis
[COMPLETED.]
[Mature content.]
Chloe Carlson, 35, was a married woman living with her cheating husband— Vincent Gray, and their daughter— Mackenzie.
Her failing marriage led her to file a divorce after 10 years, but her husband refused to sign it.
“I know what you want Chloe, you want my money after we divorced. You want to take everything from me and I will not let that happen!” Vincent accused.
“I don't need your Money, Vincent! I just want to take Mackenzie with me and leave!”
At last, she left her bastard husband without taking a cent from him. She was going to carve her own path in life and give her daughter the best in the world.
However, things aren’t working so well with a single mother like Chloe. It was difficult to find job because she was a housewife without qualification for a long time. Thus, in desperation as she needed to care for her daughter, she only had one way out.
She contacted her brother-in-law— Vernon Phoenix Gray, 25, a young, heartless playboy, who happened to be the CEO of a skyrocketing company, asking him for a job in this tough time.
“A job? That's not an issue. You can work as my personal assistant and take care of all my daily needs.” Vernon smirked and leaned in. “Especially in bed,” he whispered in her ear.

Would Chloe fall into the hands of her evil brother-in-law and become a slave of his whim?
Or would she return to her abusive scum husband for their daughter’s future?

Write a reviewWe really need these kinds of stories to show that women have to stand up against the unjust. Women in various countries go through this. I thank the author for writing this story. And basically the writing is very good. Vivid. So go ahead and read this book guys, you won't be disappointed...
I know Pupa will never disappoint his readers and again, I'm really pleasured to recommend his novel knowing that there would be a great plot, moving characters, and great story flow. And wow, I am amazed by your progress. The first few chapters are already great. Chloe is a stunning mother with a cute and adorable daughter Mackie as her sidekick! I am definitely looking forward to read more from you and from Chloe's story with her daughter and love interest, Vernon. I'm wishing you the best and hope you win! --Poisonlily
The book starts off really strong, giving you a glimpse of a woman in unideal circumstance that causes her to have trust issues in people. This captures your attention and you want to learn more about the woman and hoping she finds her voice. But after a while the author starts repeating things over and over almost as a filler to fill up a chapter. It takes 20 chapters to get to the next scene only to talk about the same thing over and over. It’s quite annoying and a money grab. I can no longer support this type of writing or the author.
I liked the story a lot when I started to read, but after chapter 70 or so, the story development is not very prominent, where some of the chapters have half of the context from what has been previously mentioned in the earlier chapters. I liked the characters and where the story is going, but there has been too many hints on potential developments without any explanations further in the story, which makes you feel like the author is just teasing the readers. Perhaps it is the style of writing, to bring out more than 500 chapters, but that is too slow and repetitive too my liking to thoroughly enjoy the story and the characters.
So far, 350 chapters with almost no story progression, stupid characters, ridiculous world views, and incongruous story development. I think the author needs to focus on the romance scenes because that's what he or she is good at.
Does this ever get better? The summary made it seem like it wouldn’t be her getting beat down constantly, that she would rise up. Nope just misunderstandings and torturing Chloe. If I were her I’d have ended myself long ago. It’s written well but I think I have to drop it. I don’t want to keep paying to read about a woman being abused by everyone in her life.
Im following and reading till now ( latest chapter ) Interesting story but too dragging and slow development keep repeating same plot from chapter to chapter. But I still want to how the ending.
I am reading this book, but don't love it. I think I could very easily LOVE this story, but with very heavy editing and some rewriting! There are a lot of mistakes in the writing, the flow doesn't work the best, characters are immature and unrealistic, and it drags out every little detail. I have skipped around a hundred chapters so far, and could have very easily skipped a lot more. The best writing is definitely from Chloes perspective or Chloe and Vernon's interactions. Anything from Pracilla's perspective could be completely skipped, most to all from Vincent's perspective could be skipped, or seriously condensed. There is a LOT of repeating the same exact thing over and over in different wording, sometimes like 3 whole chapters. It feels like the story is JUST FINALLY STARTING to develop and it is like 450 chapters in. It should have been to this point and character development MUCH earlier. I have dropped this book several times, then started back on the current chapter when I didn't have anything else I was currently reading, without feeling like I missed anything. Hope that Chloe will finally get a happy ending keeps having me come back, but ready to just skip straight to that ending.
The story and characters in themselves are very good. But the book drags quite a bit. We’re at 350 chapters now and there is finally a glimpse of some character and story development. I feel that it could have been edited down by more than half of what has been written. I will continue reading because the story is unique and I definitely want to see what happens.
So far this book is akin to watching a train wreck in slow motion. 71 chapters in & it hasn't gotten better.
I'm here coz the book has the word Evil in it. Lol. It is about the struggle of a woman who breaks free from her abusive, cheating husband. But the custody battle, and the fact that she refused to take any money, means she will have to do whatever possible to make ends meet. AKA she and her daughter are in a soup of their own. (She should have taken the money imo, but that's just me being me, prioritizing the self interests of me and MCs I read about. Kekeke) The story has some must-have ingredients in it that would make it a worthy read for FL readers of varying palate. Plus, the garnishing of real life tidbits at the right places adds that extra touch to make the book a sought-after pick. Wishing good luck to Pupa and rooting for the Evil brother lol. May his evil survives. May his evil thrives. May his evil consumes every good thing that comes in his way. *manical laughter ensues*
Another wonderful story by our author Pupa! I'm really enjoying this read, the characters and descriptions are evocative, and the prose flows really well. I'm intrigued to see what's going to happen next, and the dynamic between the characters tugs on your heartstrings. Keep up the good work Pupa! Definitely give this one a read.
I am hooked from the very first chapters. I am so angry for Chloe. Hopefully her husband ends up miserable with that horrible Priscilla. Move on Chloe! We are rooting for you and your baby girl!
Still a few chapters at the time of this review. The female lead is strong and loves her daughter, doing her best to keep her family even with a traitor husband. When she finally managed to break free from him, I felt relieved! She deserves more happiness now that she is free. Please author, make her meet a good man soon!
Female lead leaves one abusive relationship and enters another. None of these men are stable and really need some good therapy.
I could only say that I LOVE IT! This story depicts how the FL becomes strong to strive for her daughter to provide a better living and get rid of the scum husband for a better life. Try it, if slice of life is your cup of tea~
The scum father needs a beating. I got so mad with him and even the FL’s lack of common sense which was reasonable in some way because love makes us people crazy. Hope for character growth from these 2. Though i dont expect much from vincent. 🫢 What’s important though was the novel was able to make me feel for the characters. on the other hand, the ongoing plot of the novel is relatable to readers and it’s easy to get lost in it. that’s what makes this novel great. ❤️
this book is so realistic there are so many woman suffuring in this kind of situation . i bet this will be a wake up call that we woman need to be strong not to be vulnerable in any kind of situation with our spouse ,partner etc.

This story is about the struggle of a woman, Struggling with her body image Prioritizing her children's wellbeing over her own, and judged by society for things she couldn't control. It's a mellow read, but I guarantee a satisfying read and rewarding ending. Thank you for reading, and please support this story [img=recommend]
