Chapter 22: Chapter 21: Mourning and Preparing

Zealous prepared to burn Gerald's corpse under Jock's command. So, he ordered some hunters to carry tree logs and branches, then lit a fire. After a while, the fire consumed Gerald's body. Aruna and her mother watched the cremation from the side. 

Aruna clasped her mother's hand. She couldn't understand why her father could be the instrument to kill her best friend. 

While Aruna's mother could only weep silently. She knew her husband was a good person. But, although Aruna's mother knew her pup had started hating her father, she couldn't do anything. Because Aruna was still too young to understand the cruelty and injustice of the world.
