The battle went on and the Bird Of Paradise kept gaining steady advantages with zero injuries. On the other hand, James knew that their rank five and rank six fighters were barely hanging on while the injuries of rank four and rank three fighters kept increasing as time went on.

James couldn't retreat now even if he wanted to, it could potentially create tensions between the group if he ordered a retreat after so many people got injured for the sake of the treasure spot. People wouldn't be willing to give it their all if he didn't show their group's resolve.
