Chapter 5: Life...

Days passed by as the two became more used to their lives as ghosts.

Life wasn't too boring, as technology was advanced enough for the two to not get bored. Hence, the two were easily able to adapt with their new life, even if it lacked a bit of flavor. Flavor, like actual flavor. Such things as food and drinks, they could not enjoy, due to their lack of a physical body. They could enjoy the memory of it of course, or even experience it directly through someone, however, those are no longer an option after the two had witnessed the consequences of playing with one's mind.

Actually, the consequences aren't that bad. It's just that the lover of Alissa forbid the act of telekinetically interacting with someone's mind, due to his morals and future concerns. Obviously, since it's not a common sight to see possessed people roaming around within the society, it can only be because of a certain law or rule. That law is what Alissa's lover was also concerned about. He knew after all, that there has to be at least a few other ghosts who are unruly unlike him.

Luckily, Alissa didn't end up becoming an unruly ghost. Who knows what might happen if she did…

Nonetheless, although possession and mind control became some sort of taboo, that didn't mean that there was no other way for Alissa to have her fun. Of course, due to the lesson that she had learned a short while ago, her pranks are no longer as harmful as before.

Simple Telekinetic tricks. That's all she did…

Slightly moving objects in front of people in order to scare them. Repositioning an important item, such as one's car key or phone. Ordering things online with other people's account and money.

Alissa was being a chaotically good ghost, and didn't really use her abilities for harm. She could've used her abilities for things way better though, but of course, she saw no fun in doing that. Even her lover, who is a very morally decisive person, isn't the type to do charitable deeds.

To be fair, his role as a ghost was nowhere near significant. His entire days as a ghost, was him basically being a supportive husband, or perhaps, even a father. All he did, was watch from the sidelines, like a father would watch his daughter play, or a husband would watch his wife perform. Other than watching of course, he was also ready to correct or prevent any grave mistakes that Alissa might make.

Pretty much, nowhere near as important as a character as Alissa. In his role as a ghost, he was basically the janitor or waiter. He didn't cause any troubles, nor did he create world peace. He was basically a neutral ghost, who only wanted to spend the rest of his life in peace, happy and relaxed.

Truly, it is a very great contrast to the characteristics of Alissa. Alissa was a trouble maker. Someone who would soon attract unwanted attention. She was the one who couldn't sit still, due to how excited she was with her abilities.

Even before her death, she had a similar character as such. Exploring, outgoing, and one who always finds a way to seek attention. But that's what her lover likes about her. She is brave, ready to take risks. Her smile, so cheerful and wide, which causes him, and many, to feel warm and happy. For sure, she was the best person to have in company, simply because she is easily able to steer up a cheerful mood without others having to do anything.

One thing is certain. With the way she is, her lover definitely finds her to be his ideal partner. He isn't too sure what the exact reason is for him to be deeply in love with her, but one thing's for sure, and that is that she reminds him a lot of his mother. His mother who had shown him the excitement in life in his younger years. A mother, who had passed away too soon, and who would've loved Alissa like her own daughter and best friend. At least, that is how he assumes his mother would treat Alissa, if they all had actually remained alive, and if they all had met.

"Unfortunate…" He could only sigh, as he thought about the thought of his deceased mother.

"We all died because of a car accident as well…" He continued to mutter, when he realized how tragic his life really is.

"Am I perhaps, not fated to be a part of a happy family?" He even began to question his reality and fate. At this point, he was really starting to doubt his life.

While muttering such of his, he watched as his lover played a little prank on a few paranoid bunch of people. For a second, as he stared at the brilliance of Alissa, he couldn't help but smile. But that smile quickly disappeared, within the next second.

A conclusion has come up to his mind. He could no longer live the way he's living now. There was no point in living like that for him, because he simply couldn't see a wishful future ahead of him.

"What do I do in this life, honestly?" He could only ponder, in the end.
