"Gina, are still upset with me for not taking you with me to the north?" Amelia looked over her shoulder to where Gina stood tying up the back of her dress. They had both been pretty silent since their talk and Amelia could no longer take it.
"Of course I am upset but what can I do about it? I've had some time to think and I realize that if I go along with you, you'll not only have to look out for your safety but mine as well. Whereas Cyrus can protect both of you. I just…I just," Gina paused and took a deep breath. "I just don't like letting you go alone. I'm afraid those people will treat you badly even though you are their queen."
"However," Gina continued. "I understand how much faith you are placing in me to watch over your grandmother and I will accept the task. I always felt like you have only found Cyrus to be useful and I am going to show you how much use I am by watching over your grandmother."
