Chapter 176: 3.54

"Mommy," a childish voice called out from outside the door. I scrambled to cover my half-dressed self with the blanket as Ren stirred beside me. It was still dark outside.

A fiery-haired youth scrambled through the door, pouncing onto the bed. I let him clutch me while he greedily inhaled my scent. I could only stroke his hair calmly, waiting for his trembling to stop.

Ren pushed herself out of the bed beside me to get herself dressed. 

"A bit of warning next time," she spoke into the invisible space beside her.

Could she see the ghost guards, even when they were invisible to the naked eye? I tilted my head, watching her as she fetched me some clothes. 

"Come on Hell, let her get dressed," she tugged at the youth's robes, pulling him off me with one hand, whilst passing me the clothes with the other.

"Mommy Ren, you're such a spoilsport," he grumbled, scratching the tip of his nose.
