Approaching the suburbs of the city ahead of us, we found things eerily quiet. Even inside the forest, we'd encountered countless wandering dead needing to be put down. 

Each time we drove past any signs of civilisation the signs of chaos and destruction were there, even bare bones, yet all signs of what had left the carcasses lying around were gone. I felt a chill crawl up my spine.

"Holly, your abilities are psychic aren't they?" I recalled the way she had tricked me into believing she had plant powers like me, being able to make me see her grow plants; however, it had all been a trick of the mind.

"Yes," her eyes remained narrowed on the road ahead, observant that at each blind spot danger would be lurking.

"Does it work on the dead?"
