Emerald knew that she had everyone's eyes on her but she refused to be fazed by them. The family dinner was a lot fuller than she expected and most of the faces in front of her were unfamiliar, except Reina's, Ryan's, and Brian's. She didn't even remember what her father-in-law looked like and since it seemed like he wasn't at the table yet, she was blank.

She was currently seated on a spot that was almost at the end of the table and directly opposite Ryan. She had chosen to sit there because she didn't feel that it would be right to sit further up and she was also trying to avoid Reina as best as she could.

She had expected Brian to take a seat beside her or at least guide her to sit somewhere else if he wasn't satisfied with her choice but instead of doing that, he simply allowed her to stick to her choice and opted to sit closer to where his mother was seated.
