"No, no!" I finally shouted.
"How could you do this to him? You just said you believed him. Why?" I finally got angry. If becoming queen required such a course, I chose to give up being queen.
Ian glanced at me. Then, he turned to Martin. "Clean up the rest of the people!"
"Yes, Your Highness!" Martin said and dragged Paul's body out the door. It was as if he was dragging not a man but a dead dog.
"What do you mean?" I stood in front of Ian and questioned him. "An innocent man has just died in front of you. How can you say such inhumane things? How many more people will die tonight before you give up?"
"Someone is trying to hurt you. I'm doing this for you. Don't you understand?" Ian's tone was firm. He didn't like people resisting him.
