Chapter 5: Chapter Five.

Seth walked into the headquater of Allen & sons' corporations with a heavy sigh. As usual, it was going to be another day filled with events. From going over documents to attending meetings and luncheons with potential clients to convincing those potential clients to partner with the company.

Just thinking about it makes it a little tiring for him.

But Seth loved what he does. He loved seeing the company doing well. He also loved seeing that his company was putting a lot of smiles on people's faces.

That was one of the reasons he loved his older brother. The other man would always make sure he employed someone that was in need. He also gave a salary raise to their employees who had financial difficulties.

"Good morning, sir." The secretary greeted the CEO.

"Morning, Chloe," Seth answered in a jovial tone. "What's on the agenda today?"

Chloe smiled at those words. She knew that the boss was nothing but a workaholic. But that was one of the reasons why he chose her as his secretary; she was a workaholic like him. She picked up the files that contained his agenda for the day and followed after him.

"At 10 AM, you have a meeting with the board over the new resort you plan to build." She stared into the file again, "Then at 1 PM, there will be a zoom meeting with one of the clients over the shares she is interested in buying from the company." She stared again. "By 3 PM, you have a lunch meeting with Mr. Goldman to finalize the business plan between you two."

Seth stopped in his tracks. "Don't tell me there is still more." He groaned.

Chloe grinned at him, "You have another zoom meeting by 4 PM. After that, you are free."

Seth chuckled, "Remind me to sack you later." He told her and walked away from her before she could say anything else.

The moment he got to the office, he began the day's activities. First, he put a call to his assistant, Kyle, who came to his office almost immediately.

"Boss." The other man said in greeting the moment he go into the office and sat down before he got the order. "What's up?"

Seth checked his gold wristwatch, "Don't bother to sit down, Kyle. It's almost time for the board meeting." He stood up from the seat and walked out of his office.

By the time he and Kyle got to the board room, the board members were already seated and were just waiting for their arrival.

That was one of the reasons he valued his employees. They knew how much he valued time and punctuality, so they kept to it faithfully like a bride awaiting her groom.

The minute they all spotted the boss, they stood up from their seat in respect of him.

Seth walked to his seat, "Please take your seat, everyone," he told them after he settled down.

"Thank you, sir." They all chorused and sat down.

"Shall we begin?" He asked them, checking his watch.

"On today's agenda, Mr. Allen, we just need to talk about the plans you have for Allen & Sons corporations." His secretary, Chloe, said.

"Why is there a meeting over it? Is that man still not willing to sell that place to me?" Seth rubbed his palm over his forehead. Just thinking about the man's stubbornness gave him a headache.

"What do you all propose that we do?"

And just like that, the ideas flew in and out. At a point, even Seth didn't know which one to take.

If it wasn't that he liked the location of the resort very much, he might have let the place go. But having the Allen & Sons Corporation mark in New Zealand was his plan.

True, his company was already at the international level even though it was originally located in the USA but it didn't have its root in New Zealand yet.

"Boss, what do you suggest we do? Which approach would be better?" Kyle asked him.

Seth sighed. "I might go step in in-person and visit that man since it has come to this." He hoped that his presence can command a reasonable response.

"Then, you are lucky since I got information from one of my friends that the man is here on vacation with his family," Chloe said.

"Good. Send his information to me as soon as you can." He instructed her. "I think we've come to the end of this meeting then." He told the rest of the board and stood up. "Thank you all for your hard work." He told them and went outside.

His assistant and secretary followed him immediately.

"Sir, it's time for your zoom meeting." His secrets reminded him.

"Boss, I need you to look at the proposal we are sending over to our board in Malaysia one last time before I send it over," Kyle told him.

Seth stopped in his steps and turned to the two of them. "Kyle, send the documents in before my lunch meeting."

"Yes, boss." The man said with a grin.

"Boss, I need to talk to you for a minute."

Seth nearly groaned as he turned around. When he saw the board director standing a few feet away from where he was, he forced a smile on his face.

"Sure." He told the other man. He turned to his secretary, "Chloe, can you set up the zoom meeting for me in my office while I discuss with the board director?" He asked his secretary.

"Yes, sir. Rest assured on that," Chloe said with a smile.

He watched as his secretary and his assistant both walk away from him. When they were out of sight, Seth turned back to the director.

"Now, what is it that you wanted to discuss with me that couldn't wait until later?"

As he listened to the board director spoke, Seth's mind couldn't stop thinking about the long day he already had ahead of him and how this new matter the director told him about would add to it.
