Chapter 278: Dazed

Layla stood staring, not actually seeing anything, Jason's lips were moving, but she couldn't hear a thing he was saying. 

"Babe? Babe are you all right?" Jason asked in a worried tone. She looked so dazed, it worried him. Since he told her that her mother was dead, she hasn't said a word.

"Babe? Layla!" He called in a harsher tone and Layla snapped back. Now looking at him, tears pooled in her eyes. 

"Are you sure she is truly dead?" She asked, her voice a soft whisper.

"Yes, the police found her buried in your backyard. I'm sorry."

Layla felt like air was being knocked out of her lungs and she was finding it difficult to breathe. "And my father was the one who killed her?" she managed to ask with a gasp. 

"Yes."

"Oh, God…." She placed her hand on her chest, now breathing heavily. 

"Layla you need…."
