The following day Jason was discharged from the hospital. Layla, Ava, and Mason followed him back to his place. He was surprised to see that the whole place was sparkling clean and didn't look like he hasn't been in it for weeks. They must have had someone clean it up.
"Thanks, guys," he said as Mason wheeled him to his living room.
"Would you like something to eat?" Layla asked in her usual soft tone. "Mason had a chef come over and prepared some of the dishes that you like to eat."
"Thanks, I'm not feeling hungry yet," Jason said with a weak smile. He turned to look at Miguel who was still standing behind him. "I would like to lie down."
"Sure." Mason wheeled Jason to the bedroom leaving both Layla and Ava in the living room.
Jason had to hold himself from screaming out in frustration when he couldn't get off the wheelchair so he could get on his bed and Mason had to help him.
"Thanks,'' he mumbled now breathing fast.
