Chapter 136: Be with me, strawberry

Claire pushed herself to her feet, ''Excuse me,'' she whispered without looking at his face, ''I need to go.'' 

He was leaning back on the door with one of his hands thrust inside his pocket and his posture did not show any intention of moving to the side.

Claire just wanted to run away from this whole mess. She had already embarrassed herself enough for the night, ''Move aside,'' she whispered, sounding a bit tired this time.

It was one thing that Maven was not moving away from the door and it was another thing that she could not use her powers to knock him out. Because apparently, her powers did not work on him at all. 

But if she had to be honest then she would not have used her powers even if they worked on him.
