Chapter 70- Finding a clue

Earl entered the bedroom and found Amber on the bed, talking on the phone. Her coquettish smile and nasal tone indicated that she was speaking with Sean.

Earl stormed into the closet, paying no attention to her conversation. He took his black pajamas and went out as soon as he could.

Amber sat up, saying, "It's getting late. You should rest now. I will be there tomorrow. Good night." After hanging up the phone, she tossed it aside.

"Where are you going?" she asked, her tone sharp.

Earl paused right at the doorstep and glanced back at her but walked out without answering her.

Amber jumped out of bed and dashed after him. "I asked you a question," she snapped, pulling him back into the room. "How dare you walk away from me?" She pushed him against the wall, pressing her forearm against his chest.
