(XXIII) Flawless Victory
The Proctor clicked his tongue in disappointment as he extended his hand as a red laser arced through the air toward the unconscious Corsola before pulling her into the pokéball and he threw out his next Pokémon.
Standing before Ava, who was still posing, was a plant Pokémon covered by blue, seaweed-like vines that obscured its face. There was a pair of red boot-like feet poking out from under the vines, but no visible arms.

"Hmmm..." Isaac muttered as he reviewed the Tangela briefly, 'Another difficult fight' He thought before shouting, "Ava! Use Tail Whip!"
"Protect Tangela! Follow up with Sunny Day!" The Proctor ordered as Tangela quickly wiggled her vines as a shimmering transparent shield surrounded her as she began gathering fire energies around her.
"Quick, get in close and use Sand Attack!" Isaac ordered as Ava blitzed toward Tangela and shot sand at Tangela who shook violently before sending the miniature Sun into the air as a harsh light pelted down onto the field.
"Use Stun Spore followed by Growth!" The proctor ordered as Tangela began waving her vines in the air as yellow pollen began floating in the air.
"Ava, get away and use Tail Whip!" Isaac said quickly as Ava backpedaled and began shaking her butt in the air wagging her tail back and forth as Tangela was surrounded by a faint blue aura.
Isaac extended his arm and recalled Ava into her pokéball and whispered, "That was great, enjoy your rest!" As he threw another pokéball out and sent Artorious onto the field.
Tangela had finished gathering energy as she released the power of Growth as her size increased noticeably, "Great job, Tangela! Use Bullet Seed!" The Proctor shouted with a smile on his face.
"Artorious! Charge in and avoid the attack and counter with Poison Sting!" Isaac yelled, throwing his hand out.
The Nidoran bleated out as a purple aura began swirling around his horn and he dashed forward, dodging left and right as the near baseball-sized seeds smashed into the ground.
"Quick! Use Protect!" The Proctor frantically screamed as Tangela waved her vines at Artorious, as once again a shimmering transparent shield surrounded her.
Artorious leaped through the air as his horn pierced the shield and pierced Tangela with a brilliant flash, knocking her through the air and sliding against the ground as she landed.
Protect works closely as it did in the games, however, it was based on the time in between uses and not based on turns used. Similarly to the games, Protect could be used in quick succession but could fail. Unlike in the games, if Protect failed, it would result in an immediate critical hit on the move that it was unsuccessful in blocking.
Tangela arose from the ground slowly as a bright purple infection spread through her body, "Tangela, quick! Counter the poison with Leech Seed!" The Proctor ordered as he changed plans.
Tangela gathered the natural energy in the air quickly and shot the seeds through the air surprising him.
"Art!! Try and dodge before using Venom Drench!" Isaac shouted, throwing his arm around him. His Nidoran roared as he tried to jump out of the way being snagged by one of the seeds as it quickly latched on and began growing onto Artorious.
He skids against the ground and threw his head back and she spat out purple bile that splashed against Tangela and immediately recoiled at the effect, shaking her body violently and splashing the gunk everywhere around her as a blue aura heavily shrouded her mass of vines.
"Use Absorb!" The Proctor ordered as Tangela became enshrouded in a light green aura.
"Fight through it Artorious! Use Poison Sting again and let's finish this!" Isaac shouted as Artorious charged forward with purple energy swirling around his horn once more. As he approached Tangela, the roots from the Leech Seed spread further and sapped his stamina as the green aura took even more.
Tangela's injuries had started to vanish before the poison spread further affecting more of her vines before bracing herself and sliding backward a few meters and shaking aggressively, tanking the attack.
"Tch!" Isaac clicked his tongue as he gritted his teeth, muttering "She was able to barely hang on..." Artorious' eye darted back to his trainer who nodded before snapping back toward Tangela furious she had withstood his attack.
He jumped up and down in anger before he charged forward once again without a command and dashed forward as a tiny cyclone wrapped around his horn.
"Tangela! Avoid it!" The Proctor shouted but it was too late as Artorious was too close. Tangela jumped to sidestep the attack and was grazed by the horn and the wind currents flung her violently through the air and crashed against the ground, struggling to rise before collapsing for good as the Battle Judge raised the red flag once more.
The Proctor returned Tangela to her pokéball as he sent out a tortoise-like, Pokémon. It had a large, black, rock-like shell with holes that glowed red and gave off a lot of heat and smoke billowing out of the top. Its skin was reddish-orange with dark black bands on its legs and neck.

"Torkoal..? That seems a bit cheap..." Isaac muttered to himself.
"Use Ancient Power!" The Proctor ordered, hoping to get an omni-boost. Torkoal bellowed as it raised scattered rocks from the previous battles around him.
"Sucker Punch!" Isaac shouted as Artorious jumped into the air, flipping as a shadow was sent from his horn striking Torkal in the face and disrupting the attack.
Isaac used the distraction to recall Artorious to his pokéball, "You did an excellent job handling Tangela and getting some chip damage on Torkoal, rest well." He muttered to the pokéball before he sent Hanzō into the small body of water and disappeared from view beneath the surface.
"Great work Hanzō!" Isaac shouted, "Use Bubble to strike him from the pool!" Hanzō swam around in circles he shot bubbles into the air from random positions.
"Torkoal! Use Ember to blow those bubbles away!" The Proctor ordered as Torkoal began shooting small streams of fire out of his mouth bursting each of the bubbles as they burst as the water evaporated and steam rose into the air while they floated leisurely toward him.
"Hanzō! Use Mind Reader to slip one inside!" Isaac yelled as Hanzō began sensing Torkoal's attacks and shot a bubble outside his field of vision covering it with other bubbles.
Torkoal continued to shoot small streams of fire one after another clearing all the bubbles away from it before it was hit in the shell when a bubble burst, releasing the water within as steam rose from the volcanic shell as he roared in pain.
"Quick, pelt it with bubbles!" Isaac shouted as the Froakie broke his camouflage and launched himself into the air shooting dozens of tiny bubbles toward Torkoal.
"Use Withdraw!" The Proctor shouted as Torkoal quickly hid inside his shell as the red heat from the vents grew brighter as the bubbles exploded against his shell as steam quickly enveloped his shell.
"It's over!" Isaac shouted, "Use Quick Attack followed by Power-Up Punch to take him out!" Froakie's light blue skin turned white as his Protean ability changed him into the Normal type as he launched himself down with an air step before his skin changed to a light brown and the frail arms bulked with miniature muscles before landing on top of Torkoal's shell.
His feet began sizzling as Hanzō raised his fist into the air as a golden aura appeared and smashed violently against the shell and did a back flip off and landed facing the Proctor in a super-hero pose and his back to Torkoal who spilled out from his shell unconscious.
The Battle Judge raised the red flag once more before crossing them and raising the green flag indicating Isaac's victory. Both trainers returned their Pokémon to their pokéballs as they departed their positions on the field and walked around to each other.
Isaac shook his hand and bowed before he was told to head back to his classroom and he would be called to the Dean's Office when they were ready for him.
Isaac nodded and thanked the proctor before returning to the classroom where his two classmates were still taking the test and he shook his head chuckling to himself. He took his seat at the front of the class as he began recalling the battle that was still fresh on his mind. He may not have lost a single Pokémon, but everyone he used was badly injured or closed to fainting, he wanted to do better, he wanted to dominate.
