Chapter 138: Getting Stronger

Xaloc gripped the necklace with his left hand even tighter.

He was sorry. Sorry for not noticing. Sorry for not being strong enough. Sorry for not understanding. For not being reliable.

"I am sorry." The words left his mouth as big tears ran down his face in a steady stream as he sat curled into himself in the middle of a cold, sandy desert, holding an ornate necklace, crying till he fell asleep.

Day came and Night passed. Time moved like a confusing puppet play, Xaloc was not sure anymore.

He was surrounded by treacherous winds, the sand blocking his eyes, in this desolate place, there was only one ray of light and a soft voice whispering in his ears.
