 Chen Yao didn't believe it. "If she wasn't the eldest daughter of the Tao family, would you still be friends with her?" she asked.

 "Of course! I make friends with people because of their character," Lan Ning answered without thinking. "It's not because of their status. If they have good character, I'll make friends with them even if they're beggars."
