Iris warily followed Rea and Nessa as they led her to the upper levels of the manor she was in. The grand marble staircase led to several empty and silent hallways, and only then did Iris notice that she couldn't sense any presence within the estate. It was weird to her, considering how massive the place was.

Her eyes took in her surroundings, trying to feel everything that could pose a danger to her, but there was none. When it comes to Killian Fleurnoir, she needed to be wary of the payments he would rip for the favors he bestowed on her.

The thought made her frown. She didn't like the fact that she was indebted to him. Wasn't he going overboard if he was merely helping her because of his promise to the Black Mage, or was he interested in the power she possessed, now that she was a darkling?
