Breaking the Bond (1)

Lord Kieran flicked his fingers and his clothing immediately turned into his ceremonial clothes as the Lord of Aisgarth. He hated that he had to meet both the Red King and High Queen of Shayla, but it was necessary to face them as Iris's mate. As he already suspected, Queen Asheera had already arrived before him. He could hear her voice outside Xanaros's throne room.

"He cannot have my daughter, Xanaros. You know this! You know that I need Iris and yet you still bound her to that man!" She cried out.

When Lord Kieran entered, announcing his arrival, Queen Asheera whirled around to face him. Her face was one filled with unconcealed rage. The demon lord wondered if his mate was aware of this side of the High Queen. Although magic can enhance one's appearance, Queen Asheera was starting to show signs of aging.

"You! Return my daughter to me!" She demanded.

Lord Kieran wondered if the HIgh Queen was losing her sane mind at that moment.
