Adelaide had noticed how her wound festered for the worse but she was working hard on making a cure. A bastard had to learn the truth the hard way and make everything alone; it was for the sake of growing. She had been running away for months. The Plaguelands were a safer place than the walls or hiding inside the kingdom itself. Valtrar wasn't safe in the slightest. She was taken as a witch for dissecting bodies of the rotten and studying them for the sake of finding a cure. The common folks thought she was turning them into curses and with her being wounded by an undead; she finally decided to leave for the Plaguelands.

There was someone in the castle who was seeking her for his sake and benefit; he wanted the Ustriestan to be under his control, and what's better than infecting people then giving them cures? He knew that she didn't reach the end of her research but he wanted the method to keep the Ustriestan from infecting the body further.
