Chapter 144: Something is wrong

"What's wrong?" I touched my face as I tried to check if there was something stuck in it. But I felt nothing.

"Nothing," she and the other wives exchanged amused looks.

"Why are you guys looking at me like that?" I frown at them.

"If only you heard your voice last night, you won't ask that question," Sarit said as she moved past us with the bag of food slung across her back.

"What?" My cheeks turned red at her words. "How—"

"Did we know? The tent wasn't that far. And you guys weren't bothered about the poor ones around you." Dusa smiled, "had it lasted until now, I would have committed murder."

"Murder?"

"Let's leave it that way."

Walking home with the other wives wasn't as bad as I thought it will be. Everyone was chill as we conversed. It was as if we were long-lost friends who found our way back to each other.
