Joyce spent a few more minutes with her brother-in-law. He had come down significantly, and she could talk to him about other stuff without him being aggressive towards her. The man did appreciate the food that she had brought for him. Apparently, he was going to go on a hunger strike and it looked like Gavin was not going to make an effort to bring him anything.

Just as Charles had said, Gavin was an extremely loyal lap dog to eat real. Even though every other person was just as loyal, there was something about Gavin that she hated.

She left her brother-in-law's room, but not before making sure if he wanted more pie. It was clear to her that Charles was trying to make a statement and that he was not going to get out of this room anytime soon. She left him alone and was on her way to Adrian's office when she saw Gavin.
