"There is no concrete evidence to make that conclusion...but I fear they will not be uninvolved." Neveah admitted.
"They will not go unpunished this time." Xenon said darkly.
"Without direct evidence linking the Fae to this, it will be hard to entrap them. Is that not how they have constantly escaped answering for their crimes? Giving up an arm of a leg to protect the rest?" Neveah asked.
In the past year, the Fae kind had been found to be entwined in many suspicious situations, but there had not been convincing enough evidence.
And so they had cast out many of their own council members of clan lords to bear the accusation, keeping the rest of the Fae kind unrelated.
With a scapegoat presented, the dragons could not push further and convict the main leaders of the clan for the crime.
