Chapter 84: The Keeper Appears

***ALEX'S POV***

Jake had just taken my hand and started to pull me toward the door. We were heading toward the hall and the stairs beyond. I wanted to see as much of this day and the light as I possibly could. I had missed it more than I ever thought that I would.

However, the moment that we stepped forward, the entire room went dark. Jake and I were just standing there as if we were back in the real world and there had been a power outage. It had thrown me through a loop quicker than I thought was possible.

"What the hell?" Jake snapped as he looked around us. "What happened?"
