"You did not give us a reason, Karan," his mother said. She took the bowl of soup and served him. "Why can't she come?"

"I don't understand him anymore," Lakshmi said, paying attention to Aanya as well. The little girl chewed the food given by her aunt. "Tell me why she can't come."

"Because I deemed it appropriate" Karan stopped eating and relaxed to the chair. He lost his appetite all of a sudden. His sister did not want to give up on the topic and she was irritating him.

"Emperor Jalau-ud- Mohammed. You gave instructions, we can't question them" Lakshmi bowed while the rest of the family laughed at the joke. Karan did not find it funny.

"What is funny?" Grandmother asked them when she noticed that her grandson did not find the joke funny. "If my Lion deemed it appropriate then, let it be so. Don't force him."
