Chapter 126: To my death

Going back meant- failure-

While going forward meant- certain death.

I wanted neither. 

"What are our odds?" I asked.

"Close to zero-"

"But it's not zero- right?" Nalia crossed her arms in pride.

Except- no one really felt that way. She didn't either. 

A sigh. "But this was supposed to be-" After all- I wanted to take over the world and that meant-

That was just dumb.

Taking over the world was one thing-

And fighting something that nearly destroyed the world was another.

I had to pass through this mountain no matter what- and I couldn't go back at this stage.

So-

I couldn't come to the table with the intention to fight.

'I have to find a way to negotiate…'

But I didn't have anything to negotiate with.

We should have never killed that guy!

And I should have just handed the damn ring over but-
