Chapter 30: Pure Luck!

Xander scrolled lazily as he idly went through his phone, trying to sway his mind from other things that included work but it really wasn't helping at all to his dissatisfaction.

He had remained in contact with Andrey throughout the week, Incase there were issues he couldn't handle at the company but he hadn't spoken to Anxi at all.

He felt he needed to keep his mind occupied and talking to her would only cause that strange beating in the left side of his chest again.

Staying in bed for weeks now, he felt bored and got out of bed, Xandria had left several warning notes on the tables and walls, instructing the scheming fellow not to get out of bed but Xandria should have known him better than that.

He never listens and instead, crumpled the notes he could get his hands on and tossed it in the trash.

Xandria had forced him to wear a white hoodie sweater that had bear ears, along with the matching pants, he felt cold and needed to keep himself warm.

It was actually strange for him to have fallen extremely sick like this, he was weak and his temperature would rise to the point Xandria would complain that his skin wasn't any different from a boiling lava.

She had stayed by his side throughout the week and he had to put up with her constant nagging, fortunately she had to run for an important event, giving him the space he wanted.

Damian wasn't in the city as he traveled for a business proposal, neither did he inform Damian that he was unwell because if he somehow gets to figure that out, that overprotective friend of his would run back here without attending the business proposal.

He felt dizzy, but couldn't bear to stay in that room any longer. Otherwise he'd die quicker from extreme boringness, he came down the stairs and had to hold on to the rims for support.

His head throbbed and his fever wasn't going down, he's taken his daily pills so what gives!

His vision turned blurry by the second as he made it down the stairs, only to pass out in the living room, falling to the ground.

Fortunately, Anxi still had the address which Xandria gave to her and locating Xander's house wasn't as difficult as the last time she came here.

She glanced at her watch and it was probably getting to 5pm. The weather was a bit cool and the sky was starting to get drowned in a storm cloud, it's probably going to rain today.

She paid the taxi driver and stepped out of the taxi, taking a few steps further until she was standing in front of the gate and once again, she was questioned by the system.

"State your request of visit!"

"I'm here to see Xander."

Unlike before, a sudden red light appeared in front of the scanner and Anxi watched as the red light took a quick scan of her before turning green.

"Access granted!"

The gate opened and Anxi quietly walked in, she never gets tired of staring at the beautiful decor of his house and she felt glad she was able to see it again.

Although she has just a tiny little problem which was the sudden fast beating of her heart, the closer she got to his doorstep, the faster her heartbeat.

It's been weeks and to be honest, she actually missed seeing him around the office and she was really worried when Xandria told her his health hadn't gotten any better.

She made it to the door and took a deep breath before knocking but surprisingly, got no response.

She knocked again thinking no one might have heard the first time but got nothing or heard even a 'come in' from the inside.

"No one's home?"

She reached for the door knob and opened it slightly, sticking her head in to steal a peek or survey the entrance hallway but there was no one, the place looked quiet and empty.

"Anyone home?"

She still got no response but was urged to step in, finding it strange that no one answered. She kept moving and couldn't even understand why her feets were dragging her further in, even though Xandria isn't at home.

"Strange, where is every_!!"

Her pupils dilated shockingly after reaching the living room, seeing the last person she ought to find on the ground, unconscious!

"Xander!"

She hurried to his side within seconds, dropping her bag on the ground as she instantly reached out to him, she tapped his cheeks lightly in an attempt to revive him but got no response.

"Oh my God! Xander!"

She felt anxious and tried not to panic at his current situation.

"What to do? Anxi think!!"

She quickly got to her feet as she ran to the kitchen to get some water, returning after a few seconds and crouching once again beside him.

She gently sprinkled little on his face, this was the only method she could think of right now and could only pray it works.

"Wake up!"

She continued with the same treatment for a while longer until she noticed his long lashes quiver at the constant sprinkling of water. Hope returned to her heart once more seeing his lashes quiver until they finally fluttered open.

She was met by the beautiful crystal dark eyes of Xander as he stared at her and a relieved smile appeared on her lips as she took a deep breath.

"Am I dead yet?" He asked, making her poor heart ease as he spoke.

"No you're not dead! You scared the freaking hell out of me, how did this happen?"

Xander forced himself to sit up while Anxi tried to lend a supporting hand, he looked weak and his temperature was burning up when she felt his forehead with the back of her palm. Her brows creased into worry.

"Did your fever get worse or something? You're burning up!"

Xander didn't respond, he didn't have the strength to do that, his dizziness was taking a great toll on him that if care wasn't taken, he's bound to pass out again which Anxi didn't fail to notice, making her take quick action.

"Come, try to get up so we can lay you on the couch." She urged him and supportingly helped him up to his feet, his hand around her shoulder as she carefully led him to the couch, he laid on it while she tucked him in comfortably.

"Have you seen a doctor? How can you be left alone at this time? Aren't you supposed to have maids or servants around?" Clearly he was the only one at home and she doubts he's even seen a doctor, else his fever wouldn't have gotten this worse. Anxi had to think of something to at least reduce his temperature.

She went back into the kitchen and fetched a bowl of water, there was no cloth or towel nearby so she had to use the thick scarf she had brought with her.

She rushed back to Xander and sat beside him on the couch, taking the scarf out of her bag and dipping it into the water, squeezing the water out before placing it gently on Xander's forehead.

Gosh she nearly got a heart attack when she found him on the floor, it's pure luck she managed to show up at his house at this hour, who knew how long he's been unconscious there.
