Without thinking, Gus rushed outside. They had just knocked on the door before leaving the note, so they must not be far away. If he could find them quickly, then perhaps he could learn more about where his squad was and how they were.
He raced down the claustrophobic staircase and, thanks to his pace soon arrived downstairs. Bursting through the door and leaving the building, he looked around in a desperate attempt to find a glimpse of the person who had left the note, but could find nothing.
"Not that it matters," he muttered through heavy breaths in an attempt to convince himself. "We know enough about the situation as it is."
"Predictable," spoke a voice behind him. Suddenly, Gus was struck with a blow to the side of his head. Looking back to where the voice came from, Gus saw William Dean accompanied by a group of people that he did not recognise.
