Chapter 78: The Luxury of Privacy

Daniel gave her a ring that she was supposed to give to him again once the ceremony would be done. She could barely hold the thing. It had something that looked like a blue diamond seated in the center of golden decorations curved around the form of the precious stone.

She stole a glance towards the similar, smaller ring that he had for her. They were a matching set, probably handmade by some jewel maker in Karshport.

"Are you fully aware that your fates will now be tied to each other until the skies fall upon us?"

The witch had a booming, loud voice. It echoed on the shore. It echoed in Mariana's head.

Until the skies fall…

Wasn't that just a fancy way of saying forever?

"I am aware and I want to marry Mariana Adams." Daniel sounded so proud, like he had entered a competition and won her as the prize.

The words that should have stuck in her mouth came out flowing, easily and without pain, it was the most natural thing to submit to him and agree to be his woman.
