Shuimu University, Mathematics Science Center.
Qiu Chengwen walked into the office, his briefcase slung over his shoulder. He appeared somewhat tired. He had recently returned from a trip to Los Angeles where he participated in a seminar at the University of California, Los Angeles.
The Mathematics Science Center was still in its early stages of establishment. To promote good discoveries, Qiu Chengwen had returned keen to catch up on accumulated work soon after his return to the capital.
He needed to review several job applications, reply to some messages he had received, and handle some other miscellaneous tasks, such as invitations to academic conferences and lectures. Personal review and decision were necessary before proceeding to these tasks.
Upon opening his personal email, Qiu Chengwen found a peculiar email from the "Mathematical Physics Journal" with two marked files attached, inviting him to participate in the peer review process.
