Chapter 40: Chapter 38 - Nostalgia
The next day early in the morning where everyone was still asleep. Caelum woke up heading downstairs still recalling how eventful the other night was where the dinner table was full of smiles. He always remembers it was only him and Liliena eating together that though wasn't bad, felt something was missing.
Caelum spread his senses and found that everyone was still asleep which gave him some warm up exercise. He went to the front yard and started to change his clothes using magic wearing gym wear that consisted of tank tops and pants complimented by running shoes. He cracked some of his bones and stretched his muscles before taking a deep breath.
The humidity of the town was vastly different than their old city and prefered to Krendon. He looks up to see clouds forming early in the morning and recalls how the town is known for their frequent rain. Caelum held out his hand before manipulating the environment using [ True Ultimate Elemental Magic ].
He hardly felt his Mana depleted thanks to the [ Magicule Breeder Reactor ]. Though, his body still has limits in how much he is able to output but he'll never run out if he controls it perfectly.
'I'll wait until Dalia wakes up. For now let's do some warm up.'
Caelum took a stance deeply concentrating and feeling the surroundings using nothing but his natural senses. Everything slowed down as his perception shifted before vanishing from his spot and executed a right jab that flicked the air from strike then continued with a right jab.
He pretended to have an opponent where his movement kept changing and performed a low kick combined with knee strike then straight kick. Caelum then elbow strikes behind him and uppercuts to the chin before striking with another fist. He wasn't over and planted his feet into the pavement before turning his leg into a whip strike the side of his imaginary enemy's face.
The training took an effect to his body seemingly giving an explosive growth when he sealed his strength and released it later. He specifically made the runes seal after spending time with his harem within the Grimoire. It was extremely beneficial and only broke when it was overwhelmed by energy restraint or he released it.
Meanwhile, Dalia woke up from her slumber recalling that she had made a bad impression upon meeting her cousins that she hadn't seen for years now. She pondered if it made her appear a horrible person for bailing on their reunion and shook her head.
'I should apologize later. Still, he looked like that top model that Penny always shows me.'
She got out of the bed and headed to the bathroom to freshen up while remembering that she'll have to have a light jog this morning. Dalia suddenly recalled that Caelum wanted to go jogging with her and thought it was a perfect opportunity to change the first impression.
Once she's done freshen up went to change into her running attire and went downstairs to hear someone in the living room. Dalia swallowed her words upon seeing the sight before her and found the young man drying himself from his body covered in sweat that glistened the extremely shredded body.
'Wow, I wasn't able to see his body under the heavy clothes but now….he's ripped!!'
She couldn't help but be mesmerized by the sight before her falling in deep silences while Caelum already notice her before she arrived and smiled upon seeing her.
"Good Morning, Dalia! How was your run yesterday?"
"G-Good morning, Caelum. It was great, I was able to teach 9 miles!"
"Impressive, that's around 15 km if I'm correct. Anyway, it's been a while since we've seen each other. How is your life in Krendon? Any boyfriend yet?"
"Hahaha that's actually your first question after seeing me for the ? Well, no I haven't gone dating yet since I'm more occupied in achieving my dream!"
"Good! They have to go through me first before getting their dirty hands on you like Liliena!"
"Jeez, I can handle myself, thank you very much!"
"I know but if you need anything or anyone bothering you just ask me! I'll be the man of the house from now on!"
"Hehehe energy as ever. Oh hey are you still going to join me on my daily run?"
"Of course, I was just doing some warm exercise earlier."
"Great! Let's go!"
Dalia excitedly said while her cousin chuckled upons seeing her enthusiasm. The two went outside running through the neighborhood while chatting along the way.
"Hey, what about you? Do you have a girlfriend yet?"
"Trade secret."
"Alright then. Keep your secrets."
"Hahaha nice one. I believe that's from the Lord of the Rings quote right?"
"I'm surprised you know about that. It's actually my favorite movie."
"Nice, I also like fantasy stories but prefer anime shows. Though, I haven't watch the trilogy but I did seen the prequel trilogy, the hobbit"
"What? We have to watch it together sometimes!! I mean you're missing a lot!"
"Hahaha sure why not but you'll have to watch some of my recommendations too."
"Deal!"
They hadn't even noticed how long they were running and kept going while talking with each other. The two soon ended up within the park that they used to play in and sat down on the swing to catch their breath.
"This sure takes me back. We used to play in the park quite often and I'm surprised that it hadn't been demolished."
"I know right!? Remember when we used to play hide and seek!? I'm always wondered how you are always able to find us."
"That's because I have a special radar called "Brotherly intuition" that allows me to find all of you."
"Sheesh, that sounded creepy if I'm totally honest."
"Hahaha it does huh? Well regardless it's good to be back. Oh right, anything you do in your spare time besides exercising?"
"Have you played Eternum yet?"
"Oh you already have gear?"
"Yeah I won it from a school competition quite some time ago."
"Well I've recently bought a few of them using the money I've won in the lottery. I was planning on gifting each of you an eternum gear."
"Wait what!? You know how expensive those gears are?"
"I know and don't worry I still have some money but don't tell Penny or Aunt Nancy. It would ruin the surprise later."
"My lips are sealed but hey why don't we play together?"
"Sure but you should play with Liliena first since I won't be playing for the time being."
"Why though? Eternum isn't just your average game and you actually feel like you're in another world."
"Hahaha I somehow know the feeling."
He did explore another world that eternum would not even compare. Caelum only ponders if he is able to replicate anything he would gain within the game later.
"What do you mean by that?"
"I mean new city and new environment?"
"Ah true, Krendon change a lot when you all left to the another city."
"Anyway, let's head back."
Dalia nodded and the two headed back home where everyone was still asleep. Caelum went to the kitchen and prepared breakfast since Dalia is occupying the bathroom. It was unfortunate that they only have one bathroom but no one minds it anyway.
Caelum searches the fridge and cabinets trying to see what he should prepare for their breakfast. He washed his hand and made some pancakes with bacon and eggs on the side. Caelum added the fruit that he grew using his skill [ Ambrosia's Divine Heaven's Fruit Creation ] to help bring out everyone's potential and strength.
Of course he diluted the effect in case it got overboard in making them stronger. He wasn't finished and made some toasted bread that resulted in a perfect American breakfast. Caelum craved some steak but couldn't add it since there weren't any in the fridge.
"Woah, you've prepared all this while I was in the shower?"
Dalia soon came wearing a more casual outfit than before finding her cousins made an enticing meal that made her drool from the aroma. She then spotted a pancake that made her eyes lit up.
"Yes, pancakes!!"
"Hahaha I know you still love pancakes but try waking up everyone while I'm in the shower in order to have breakfast with everyone."
"Ahhhh….I am really eager to eat now but fine."
"Don't worry I'll be quick."
Caelum chuckled seeing her reaction before heading up stairs to rinse the dirt and sweat. He headed upstairs sensing Nancy was awake when to greet her in the hallway.
"Morning Aunt Nancy."
'....Wow, is this my nephew!? His ripped and even top class model can't compare to his physique!? Oh god…why do I feel hot looking at him. get it together, Nancy. He's your nephew….but no one said I can't fantasize since no one is going to read my mind.'
Caelum tilted his head seeing Nancy trying to hide her flustered state upon seeing his sweaty body. Meanwhile, He notice how she was wearing a babydoll nightgown that only made her appear more enticing than before.
"Morning, Caelum. You're up early, is this how you usually wake up?"
"Yeah, I just went on a light jog with Dalia and prepared breakfast. You girls can wait for me there, I'll just take a quick shower."
"Really!? Thank you for doing that but you don't have to."
"Hahaha it's fine, I actually enjoy cooking and learn a thing or two when I do some part time jobs."
"In that case see you at the table."
Caelum nodded and went to his room and got a towel before rinsing the sweat from his body. He could always use magic to cleanse the dirt but it would be as refreshing as taking a cold shower. Once he was done went back to his room and changed clothes.
He arrived where everyone was chatting and stopped when he sat to join them. Caelum took the other side of the table facing Nancy and his mother, Liliena and Annit took the right side while Penelope and Dalia took the left side.
"Finally, I've been dying to taste what you've prepared!"
"I have to say this meal are like those Instagram posts I've seen."
"You'd be surprised what brother is able to cook. He did a lot of street bendor jobs."
"Yeah, I once saw him make an amazing snack from the leftovers from our part time job."
"Fufufu I did teach him a thing or two."
"I wish two of my daughters could cook like you."
"I'm flattered but it's nothing special. Anyhow, let's dig in before it gets too cold."
Everyone was eager to taste his meal while Caelum smiled happily feeling how his family was whole again. They were chatting about their agenda with Liliena and Annie would head to meet up with Mary accompanied by Dalia while Penelope still had work to do on her college campus and Nancy still had work to do.
Before they go, Caelum told everyone regarding having extra eternum gear that he had bought for them. This surprised both Nancy and Penelope.
"What? You bought two 25,000$ eternum gear!?"
"You didn't have to buy me one since I wouldn't be able to play that often."
"It's fine, just take it since I can't exactly use multiple gears at the same time."
"If it's the case then thank you for the gift!"
"Yes! We can play together, Liliena! Penny!"
"Hold there I'm still busy, I'll tell you when I can play."
"Alright enough talk, let's finish up breakfast."
Everyone took their time and finished their meal with Caelum deciding to join Liliena in exploring the city. Dalia was eager to show them around showing her energetic enthusiasm while his mother decided to stay and take care of the house while they were gone. Caelum made sure to place protective barriers in case things went wrong. It would alert him if any problem has occured.
