Chapter 78: Chapter 76: Broken Dream.

Entering the room, the light breeze that came through the open window touched Toru's face and, almost instantly, he saw the pink-haired girl sitting next to Sasuke.

"I'm home."

However, breaking the silence with which Toru arrived, Tsunade entered the room with a slight smile on her face.

Sakura stood up as she saw her walk through the door.

"Who are... you?"

She was a bit confused, she didn't know who was that woman who entered the place with a confident smile on her face, but there was nothing to worry about, as she understood the situation a bit when she saw Naruto enter.

"Sakura-chan, Sakura-chan! You don't have to worry anymore! I brought someone amazing who will be able to cure Sasuke!"

With a big smile, Naruto put his hands on Sakura's shoulders as he spoke. She didn't know how to react though, as the confused expression could still be seen on her face.

It was to be expected, this sudden news still generated some doubts and insecurities in her, however, if there was a chance for Sasuke to wake up again, she will be willing to do whatever it takes to see him well once more.

On the other hand, Toru watched the whole scene with an expressionless face.

It had only been a few minutes since they arrived at the hospital and all this was already getting a bit stressful.

"Can you really cure him?"

"Of course, there's nothing to worry about..."

Tsunade answered Sakura's question with a slight smile, which was enough to calm this girl's wounded heart a little.

After that, Tsunade took it upon herself to examine Sasuke.

This increased Toru's curiosity, who folded his arms while watching everything as a simple and calm spectator.

Tsunade looked at Sasuke carefully.

This boy seemed to have had horrible nightmares, it could be clearly noticed in the pale color of his skin and the dark circles above his cheeks. His breathing was also a bit worrying, as it was very weak, as if he was slowly losing the strength to stay alive.

'What did they do to this child...?'

He folded his arms as he watched.

'Well, I shouldn't care about that. I'll heal him right now'

He placed his hand on Sasuke's forehead. After a second, his hand began to glow in a faint pale green color, this was what many knew as 'Medical Ninjutsu', which is used to heal wounds on the body, as long as you have the necessary chakra capacity. Well, this jutsu does not always have to do with the amount of chakra, but also with the medical knowledge of the user.

Toru watched this carefully, as this was one of the few times he could see such a complex medical ninjutsu, powerful enough to heal mental wounds.

"Sasuke..."

With her hands clasped together on her chest, Sakura closed her eyes and encouraged herself.

The thought of the only possibility that Sasuke might never wake up terrified her, but her worries were in vain, nothing bad was going to happen, maybe.

"He's ready."

Tsunade removed her hand, and then Sasuke opened his eyes.

It was amazing, Toru felt he had to praise this woman's ninja skills. Not only was she able to make Sasuke wake up, she was also able to heal the wounds he had all over his body without leaving any scars. This fact was worthy of praise, though he felt he should keep quiet, this was his childhood friend's moment after all.

'You look pathetic, Sasuke.'

Even though Sasuke opened his eyes and sat up on the stretcher, he still looked disoriented, as if he was trying to process the information coming into his head.

His eyes looked empty, lost in the darkness of his cold, bizarre thoughts.

"If you woke up..."

"Sasuke!"

Naruto was about to approach Sasuke, but Sakura jumped on top of him, wrapping her arms around the Uchiha clan boy's neck.

Tears began to flow on their own. Sakura could not contain her feelings, but this somehow made Toru feel uncomfortable.

'It seems like she really loves him, but I don't think Sasuke is interested in that kind of thing...'

Sakura was crying as she hugged Sasuke, this girl's feelings were obvious. Still, Naruto just kept a crooked smile before leaving the room, Tsunade and Shizune followed him.

'...Itachi'

His vision returned to normal, it seemed he had already recovered a bit from the mental damage.

He still remembered what happened that day....

He remembered clearly what Itachi made him see using his Sharingan.

'I should go too'

He shook his head and prepared to leave the room, but he felt a look that stopped him. Sasuke looked at him... as if he just saw a ghost in front of his eyes.

It was strange, but it was something he didn't care about. So he turned his gaze to the front and followed Naruto.

The next person to be healed by Tsunade's ninja powers was Hatake Kakashi, who was a bit surprised to see that woman back in the village.

"Thank you..."

He touched his head in pain as he took a seat on the stretcher.

"Shame on you, how could you have been defeated so easily by two traitors? Hmph, I thought you were a genius."

"I'm sorry..."

Tsunade said some things that hurt this man's feelings a bit. Well, it was to be expected, as his confrontation against Itachi and Kisame, two S-class criminals, was extremely difficult, obviously he ended up losing due to the mysterious jutsu the enemy had. However, he suffered great damage being in that strange genjutsu that Itachi called "Tsukuyomi."

Toru had his doubts about what happened, since he left the village along with his team just as Itachi entered the village, so he couldn't witness any of it. However, he was now sure that Itachi is powerful enough to defeat someone like Kakashi, who is known in the ninja world as "The replica ninja".

'This all reminds me that I have to continue my research...'

Dropping his arms over his shoulders, Toru watched Naruto chatting happily with his sensei, he looked happy to see the man safe and sound.

Tsunade was also chatting a bit with Shizune, but this Toru didn't mind. He was curious about the medical ninjutsu this woman used to heal Sasuke and Kakashi.

He had always seen this type of skill as something amazing that all ninja should learn, however, to his bad luck, he was born into a clan whose affinity for ninjutsu is very low. He was lucky enough to be born a genius, but that doesn't mean he can perform any kind of ninjutsu, indeed, genjutsu was something Toru could never learn.

With much effort, he was able to learn to control wind and fire at will, but then he mixed these two elements in one of his experiments, which is how he obtained his own kekkei genkai, Shakuton.

Unlike the Shakuton of a certain person from the Mist Village, which is in charge of evaporating fluids, killing his enemies instantly, Toru's Shakuton is a variation that focused more on chaos and destruction, which is capable of easily disintegrating a living being the size of a human.

"Congratulations on waking up, Kakashi-sensei..." Toru said.

"Oh, I hadn't seen you. Still, thank you..."

Kakashi looked good for the deplorable state Itachi left him in after using Tsukuyomi on him. Unlike Sasuke, who looked pretty bad after waking up.

But that was a good thing, as Konoha needs powerful ninja who can defend it from outside attacks and obviously Kakashi is one of those ninja.

"Tsunade-sama, please hurry, Rock Lee is over there."

Poking his head around a corner of the door, Guy appeared while pointing to the right with his index finger. He looked quite impatient, but being like this was only natural. After his student received so much damage during his confrontation with Gaara, leaving him in a depressed state, it was a miracle that someone with the ability to heal irreversible wounds appeared, so he shouldn't waste this opportunity, after all this person is Tsunade, one of the three Sannin.

"Eyebrows-sensei? She appeared sooner than I thought."

"Oh, Naruto is here too."

Guy smiled as he gave a thumbs up. Although he was impatient, he was also excited as his student will be able to fight like before again.

"I know, I know... you don't have to be so impatient."

He sighed as he touched his forehead. Tsunade also knew this man with the strange hairstyle.

They had all grown quite a bit since the last time she was in Konoha.

'Time flies by, huh...'

She walked out of Kakashi's room accompanied by Shizune.

Toru watched as everyone walked away in silence. So far, he had decided to stay quiet, just observing without interfering so he could draw good information and experience with medical ninjutsu.

He knew that it was very useful to learn this type of jutsu, unfortunately it is very likely for Toru not to be able to learn it due to the complexity that this jutsu implies, although if one takes into account his past life experience on bio-organic organisms, it is possible to learn the basic fundamentals of this ninjutsu.

"Aren't you coming with us?"

Naruto saw Toru stare off into nothingness as he thought.

"Uh... yeah, I'm coming."

He shoved his hands into his pockets as he left the room.

Before leaving, he took one last look at Kakashi, who also returned his gaze with a neutral expression on his face.

"I would really like to know about your meeting with Itachi, Kakashi-sensei..." Toru said to then leave the room.

However, this left Kakashi with a serious look on his trail.

It had already been a while since he met Itachi, S-ranked criminal in the international bingo book, but hearing that name from Toru's mouth made Kakashi have bad feelings.

The sound of the crutch touching the floor echoed in that long white-walled hallway.

Sunlight did not reach this place because there were few windows nearby.

Some voices coming from the rooms that were spread throughout the place could also be heard echoing.

One after another, his footsteps were heavy, he had a sad expression on his face.

He wanted to believe that everything will be alright, everything was going to be alright, wasn't it?

Rock Lee, he kept hoping that it could get better. He never gives up, so it's normal.

"Lee! Here I am! I brought Tsunde-sama!"

He opened his eyes to meet his master.

Beside him, there were two beautiful women, each with qualities that stood out among the group. There were also Toru and Naruto, both of whom looked small standing next to the adults.

Seeing this, Lee looked up and then Tsunade could see him.

Toru and she frowned a little at the sight of this boy. Tsunade, being an experienced doctor, could already see the deplorable state Lee is in, the same goes for Toru, who could see at a glance that this was something serious.

"Naruto, don't you have something to do?"

"Oh, almost forgot. I promised Iruka-sensei I'd see him for ramen."

As soon as he heard Tsunade's words, Naruto left the place without looking back, forgetting that he left Toru at that place.

'This is going to get rough'

"You don't have anything to do either?"

Tsunade threw in a hint. It was obvious that this woman wanted to get rid of Toru, but this boy is not as naive as Naruto. So he had to think well about what he will say next, only then he can stay to see what the Fifth Hokage will do about Lee's injuries.

"Actually, no. I have the day off."

Without changing the poker expression on his face, Toru was direct with his words. He practically said, "I'm not going to leave, because I want to see this," but it seemed that Tsunade was not going to give up, as she believed that what she was going to say after examining Lee should be kept secret.

"I think you should go."

This time she went straight to the point, but Toru didn't give in.

"I don't want to."

Toru looked at Tsunade, kept the emotionless expression on her face as she did this. This caused a vein to rise in the forehead of that woman, a woman whose patience had worn thin so fast it didn't seem normal.

"Listen to me, you insolent brat."

She put her hands on her hips as she looked this child in the eyes.

This was Toru's chance, for he knew how to counterattack.

'¡¿?!'

Tsunade stepped back when she saw Toru's eyes. They glowed brightly with the color of the sky, the pupil slowly deformed into an X, and then the lines of death came into existence.

Lee and Guy already knew this ability that Toru has, so they were not surprised, but this did not apply to Shizune and Tsunade, who had just met this boy.

'Those eyes... What are they?'

Shizune found no explanation for this, Tsunade had that same thought.

Uchiha and Hyuga, both clans have special dojutsu, unique in the world, but to see something like this was surprising and strange.

"I just want to see, I won't do anything more than that..."

He shoved his hands in his pockets and let out a sigh. Slowly the light in her eyes faded, returning to the gray color of the beginning. Tsunade frowned, as Lee didn't seem to balk at this, he simply nodded his head as he walked into the room.

***

"You must resign, you will not be able to continue being a ninja."

Toru raised an eyebrow doubtfully, this news, gave him a very interesting idea.

Author's note: I'm a few chapters short of finishing volume 1. When that happens, I'll take a break of a few days, possibly a week, to read the Naruto manga, since I don't remember anything that happened in the second part.

Well, I think I'll post two chapters in p atreon today.
