Chapter 49: 49 People Sharpen Their Fangs

Agnieszka Madera stared at the cursor blinking on a piece of paper in her computer. The short, vertical line seemed to taunt her. It seemed to say directly, "you thought you were a good journalist, but you're just a journalistic hyena, hahaha...!"

The worst part was that the cursor was right.

All the time Agnieszka could see Adam Lechoń staggering on his feet. She could still see the man sitting awkwardly on the wall and looking somewhere with his blind, unconscious eyes. This is not what a lawyer without a conscience, who ran away from the capital out of fear of failure, looks like. This is what a man who is actually at the end of his strength looks like.
