Adam wondered, how many were there? He was ashamed to ask, but on the other hand, if it was the last time they saw each other, what was there to be ashamed of?
“So what number am I?”
“The lucky thirteen.”
“What, you had as many as twelve?” Lechoń sat down in surprise.
“And isn't that a rather normal result? Then how many did you have?”
Adam had no idea if thirteen was a normal number, because he was far from it and there were people who had only one partner all their lives.
“You are the fourth” he announced without shame.
“So I am honored. Since you choose your partners so carefully, I joined the group of the best.”
“I wouldn't say so” Adam said quietly. His experiences so far were certainly not the best. One could rather assume the opposite.
