Chapter 16: The Camp and Grim Reapers(Rewrite)
As they drove down the road at insane speeds, Sally was next to her at Kurayami who was sitting next to her driving. As he drove, he called Azazel who answered nearly right away.
Azazel was invested as he was the one who was hired by two gods.
"Did you get him?"
Kurayami glanced at Percy in the rear mirror which made the kid avoid his gaze. Percy was still too green for all this and Kurayami was terrifying.
"Yeah, I got him and his mother. I am currently driving him to the camp."
Azazel sighed in relief.
"Why drive?"
"I got a chance to use my alchemy training."
"Regardless, just drop them off and come back. This will take longer, but be ready for anything."
When Kurayami hung up Sally and Percy both looked at him thinking what to say. Sally was the first one who spoke up
"So, my name is Sally. You?"
"Kurayami."
She felt kind of nervous, but she pushed her feelings away. She had dated Poseidon for peat's sake why was Kurayami scarier than a literal god?
"I wanted to ask why you saved us?"
Akeno who sat right behind Sally answered for him as he would give short answers.
"Your son is in trouble. Such trouble could spread to the rest of the world which is bad for everyone involved. Even us."
Kurayami cleared Akeno's words a little.
"Zeus thinks he took the Master Bolt. Is threatening to go to war for it."
Now Percy was confused, but everyone ignored him. Even though this was all about him, he was not in a state where he could intervene. Sally was the one who was keeping calm for his sake.
"What can we do?"
Kurayami pondered on that himself.
"Nothing. We just have to prove he didn't take it to prevent another Great War. A shame. I'd win."
Esdeath and Raynare had to agree with him. When you got three battle junkies together it led to stuff happening. Even now they would not mind a war as it would push them to their limit. Plus fighting was fun and a war was even more fun for the three of them.
Now Sally wanted to know about a name they kept saying.
"Who is Azazel?"
"A Fallen Angel. One of the strongest beings in our sphere of influence. The only Fallen Seraph, and leader of Grigori."
Percy heard that and held his head as he felt a huge headache.
"Why am I dealing with all this? I am just a normal person."
Raynare scoffed at him as she grabbed his shirt and pulled him from slouching. Her strength eclipsed his so he got dragged along like a weightless feather.
"Yeah. Normal if it weren't for your father. You are the son of Poseidon. A demigod so act like it."
Grover wanted to keep it secret.
"You couldn't be more subtle?"
Esdeath shook her head.
"I really can't believe he is a demigod. He is so weak, what can he do? Talk to fish."
Percy was overwhelmed and hid his face in his knees. Akeno glanced over at him for a few seconds to see what was different about him. His aura felt different from a human's but seems like most of it was dormant.
She snorted as she looked out at the vast farmland all around. She enjoyed these kinds of missions as she got to spend time with her brother and her friends. Always a good time.
Percy looked at his mother as he wanted to know more.
"You said dad was lost as sea."
Sally looked sad and nodded. She reached behind to run her hand on his hair.
"He wanted to be with us, but Zeus ordered that all gods can't be with their children."
Suddenly Kurayami rolled down Sally's window and looked in the distance. He snapped his finger and by the S.U.V appeared Tyrant who had grown over the past 4 years. He was already 10 meters long and was stronger than ever.
The giant Fiend spread out his new pair of wings and roared in the distance. A roar from the field came back to challenge Tyrant. Grover screamed when he saw Tyrant as it was not a Greek creature.
"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?"
Kurayami only gave his name.
"Tyrant."
From the cow field, a huge minotaur charged at Tyrant in an enraged dash. The back spines of Tyrant crackled in Holy and Necrotic lightning and an evil grin was plastered all over his toothy maw.
'Sick him.'
Tyrant charged back and blasted off into the air. The Minotaur lept into the air and clashed with Tyrant, but despite its great size, it got ripped in half by Tyrant's claws.
In one exchange he had murdered it. Percy and Grover looked in admiration at the beast. Grover got focused as he could sense the camp.
"We are here."
Kurayami stopped the SUV which caused it to serve. He walked out while Grover began to remove his pants for some reason. When Percy saw that he was shocked.
"You are part donkey."
Grover looked over and shook his head.
"Goat. Not donkey."
At that moment Tyrant emerged from the field and seeing him up close made them see just how big he was. Kurayami walked forward and placed his hand on the hot rock-like exoskeleton.
"Did you enjoy yourself?"
Tyrant snaped as the Minotaur died far too easily. It was not fun at all. For now, Sally, Percy, and Grover all looked on with both awe and terror. Kurayami glanced at the ones who were shell-shocked which disappointed him.
"Come on, we need to get moving."
Grover gulped as he could have sworn that he heard Tyrant speak. It was the last thing he wanted to hear as well.
'Did he just say yummy goat?'
Grover shook his head as he led them toward the camp. It was not far at all as they only walked a few meters before they arrived. Grover and Percy walked in, but Raynare, Kurayami, Akeno Esdeath, and Sally couldn't go in.
Tyrant placed his nose on the barrier as this was odd. The barrier shimmered as it would take power to enter. Percy turned around and held Sally's hand while he tried to help her in. No matter what they tried she could not enter at all.
"Mom. Why can't you enter."
Esdeath looked over and explained.
"We are not demigods or Greek. Go already. Your mom is safe brat."
Percy walked out and refused.
"No. She is my mom and if she is not coming I am not going."
Kurayami offered him a way out.
"I can take her to Japan's Grigori base. They are after you, but they will use her to get to you."
He nodded.
"I accept."
Kurayami turned around and began to leave.
"See ya kid."
Grover patted Percy on the shoulder and nudged him toward the camp.
"Come on Percy. We will find a way to prove your innocence. Sally will be safe."
They walked in and eventually, Percy and Grover were no longer visible. Once she could no longer see her son, Sally looked over to Kurayami as she did not want to be a burden to her son or her savior.
"Japan?"
"Zeus was banned from Japan by my ancestor. The goddess Amaterasu."
He opened a Fallen Angel spell under their feet and motioned for her to hold his hand. She held his hand while Raynare, Akeno, and Esdeath walked next to him
"Tyrant, let's go."
The beast returned to the pact as it was going to be easier than teleporting him. directly. At Grigori, the magic circle opened up and they appeared in an open training field. When Sally opened her eyes and looked around she came face to face with a gruff-looking middle-aged man and a girl in a Kimono with cat ears.
She looked about 17 which looked just the same age as Kurayami. Even though she was 3 years older than Kurayami he looked older. Sally did not know there were also people like that in this world, but Kurayami just greeted his father and Kuroka.
"Dad. We just came to leave her here while we have to go back."
Sally looked at Baraqiel as she could kind of see trace amounts of his looks on Kurayami.
"Sally, this is mine and Akeno's father, Baraqiel."
Akeno rushed out and hugged him tightly. Even at 14, she still loved her dad. Sally looked at Baraqiel and extended her hand. Baraqiel shook her hand. He was interested in why Kurayami brought her here as he knew his son well. That was not how he usually was.
"May I know who you are?"
"I am Sally. The mother of Percy."
Baraqiel was informed what his kids were doing so he now knew why she was here.
"You are the mother of the demigod."
"Yes."
Kurayami spoke up as he prepared to go back. Something told him it would be interesting.
"You can speak to Azazel if you want. For now, we are going."
Before he could leave a certain cat did not want to be left behind. Kuroka jumped up and pressed his face into her breasts. He was the strongest male and he had a good bloodline. She wanted that for her kittens.
"Did you miss me Nya? Take me with you."
He hugged her back holding her in the air. She even wrapped her legs around his waist as he was huge. She was only 5'1 and he just continued to grow. She felt glad he was taller than her as it was her thing.
"Fine, just make sure you stay in cat form."
"Boo, what about these? You won't get to see them in cat form. Unless you are a pervert and into that."
Sally saw how they were flirting with each other as Kuroka nuzzled his face with her chest. While his face did not change, his eyes were glowing like light bulbs. Sally looked away as this was a bit too direct for her.
"Who is she?"
Kuroka looked up and smiled.
"I am Kuroka, a Nekusho and a girl in love."
Esdeath and Raynare sighed as she was all but smitten with Kurayami. Not only was he strong she lived with them as well. At that moment, Kuroka turned into a cat and jumped on his head. She curled up and got comfortable. Baraqiel said goodbye and led Sally to talk with Azazel.
As they left Kurayami created another spell to go back to America and they appeared in the same spot they left. Kuroka looked down at the three girls who were shooting her evil glances.
"What? I didn't do anything wrong, nya."
Esdeath crossed her arms as she looked at the cat.
"Someone got bold recently."
Kuroka nodded.
"Can you blame me? Kurayami is perfect."
She flipped onto her back as his affinity to animals worked with Yokai. And, now that he was going through puberty he was starting to like the attention. He blamed Azazel, who kept pushing him to take a harem.
Hard to do when the most intimate thing he had done was cuddle. Raynare and Esdeath hugged both his arms and they looked at his face. Azazel and Shuri both were working together to get Kurayami out of his shell and it was working.
Day by day, they warmed up the ice around his soul. Though, Raynare did agree with what Kuroka said.
"I know."
Kurayami looked at the sky and had to agree. He was never self-centered, but maybe Azazel was a bad friend.
"I am aren't I?"
Esdeath smirked at his attempt at a joke.
"Don't push it."
They smiled at him, but they noticed Akeno looked away with a snort. At 14, she was starting to become interested in boys, but her sheltered upbringing did not give her much room to choose from.
She did not like Vali, no human boy would do, and there was one more thing that affected her. She was starting to understand that she was starting to develop feelings for her brother. Something she should not feel, but she did.
Kurayami and Akeno knew about this as their link as twins was proud. But neither one was taking the first step. He was not confident in himself and Akeno was too ashamed.
For now, they walked back to the S.U.V and they all got in it. He got in the driver's seat and drove them away. Akeno brought up a point she thought of to change the mood.
"Now that we brought him here, what do we do now?"
Kuroka jumped off his head and landed on his lap as she curled up like a cat.
"The kid is safe in the camp and we just finished our job for the most part, but if the lightning of Zeus is not returned there will be trouble. Grigori might be dragged in along with the Devils and stuff.
Raynare sighed and slumped in the seat.
"How do we even get it back at all? How do we find who stole it if our target is where we can't get to him?"
Kurayami drove down the street, but he pulled over not far from the camp itself.
"I don't know as he is in the camp and unless he wants to come to Zeus himself there's not much we can do."
Esdeath was not much happier.
"So one minotaur is all we had to deal with? Pretty anticlimactic."
He nodded. and was about to return to Grigori, but suddenly scores of Grim Reapers appeared from thin air.
"Esdeath. Next time talk sooner."
She smiled and nodded. They all exited the SUV as they were itching for a battle. He summoned Rebellion and Submission as both blades ignited in dark purple flames. White and Dark crackled along their blades reacting with the flames to increase the intensity.
Rebellion and Submission both released their unrestrained aura causing the Reapers to start to back away.
"I got this."
They nodded as Kurayami began to walk toward the Grim Reaper group. Kuroka was still on his head, but she was fine where she was. She was going to watch a slaughter right now. One reaper spoke up in their voice devoid of feeling.
"Give us the mother. Hades demands it."
A giant pillar of dense black touki emerged from Kurayami and began to shake the very earth. The dense aura emerging from him froze the Grim Reapers solid as they did not expect Kurayami to be this powerful.
"Why don't I show you a trick? Balance Breaker, The Fiend of The End"
Behind Kurayami emerged a giant Razor Tooth Fiend made of Holy and Necrotic flames. On its head, a giant cross burned as the massive creature towered over the Grim Reapers. The giant Fiend soul looked up and opened up its toothy maw.
Two orbs of fire, one Holy and one Death began to orbit each other. Holy and Death lighting was added to the mix before being compressed and blasted out in a massive laser-like beam.
Through careful control, only the reapers were killed while their gear was fine. He waved his hands and dispelled his Balance Breaker. He exhaled as he looked at the Reapers that remained.
Over 80% were killed right away and the rest sustained serious damage. Still, more and more came even though he showed he could use his balance breaker. He decided to give the girls a turn as he looked at the dead Reapers.
"Alright, jump in. I did my part."
Hearing the ok, made Raynare and Esdeath more than happy. Raynare's right eye turned purple, while Asmodai was covered in black flames. She swung her weapon creating a wave of Cursed Fire. She did not have a balance breaker yet as her sacred gears were incomplete.
On the other hand, her power was still comparable to Longinous users. Her heritage from Azrael had shown its worth as she drained the life and soul from every reaper that so much touched her miasma.
Despite the fact, that they were beings of Death too. She exceeded them. Esdeath on the other hand charged in and on contact several Reapers were cut to shreds.
"Balance breaker, Mahapadma."
A blue aura covered the area and froze everything still. This only affected enemies, but in those 5 seconds, she could hold it everything happened. Everywhere she moved reapers were cut to shreds 100 times over.
Akeno on the other hand attacked with spears of light and with her spellcraft. She also got into the melee with her spear and dished out a bombardment of every element possible. She considered herself a magic lancer as she attacked in the thick of it while bombing everything with her magic supremacy.
Still, as they massacred the Reaper army Kurayami noticed something odd. There was not one Executive Grim Reaper among than as the lesser ones were just lambs to the slaughter.
'Did they underestimate us?'
He stopped thinking as a pillar of touki condensed around his body like an armor of his pure life force. He planted his foot on the ground and charged forward. Grim Reaper souls were good food for his swords and him.
Every swing of his swords' ripped apart countless reapers. In the same manner, his blades devoured the souls and essence of their victims. When he killed the last one both of his weapons had a feast of souls. He rested Submission on his shoulder as that was it.
"Alright, we are done so start collecting their loot."
Akeno waved her hand as she used wind magic to help him as well as they could be melted down to collect the Stygian Iron. He still thought about the lack of an Executive Grim Reaper but considered it their luck. He did not know he had a guardian angel over his shoulder.
He was right as Hades had sent 2 Executive Class Grim Reapers, but they were defeated by Azrael. While he wouldn't show himself he was protecting Raynare from the shadows. She was his last kin and he considered the Kurayami family as well.
He gazed down at the nearly dead Grim Reapers at his feet.
"Go back to Hades and don't come back. If he touches my granddaughter I will personally rip him apart. Azrael has returned."
The Reapers were frozen in fear as Azrael was one of the strongest beings in the world. He was a class above a Super Devil as the first Angel ever made. The Reapers retreated so Azrael took to the sky once again to keep watch over his granddaughter.
This was the least he could do for now being there for his son. As for the Kurayami, Esdeath, Raynare, and Akeno, they collected the scythes, robes, and masks and teleported them to Grigori. Taking the loot would make Azazel very happy.
