"Papa?" I stared at Lady Claire skeptically.

Lord Cardis released Edrik's body as a smirk appeared on Lady Claire's face.

Lady Claire shamelessly threw her body on Lord Cardis's chest as he gently stroked her hair.

"I asked you not to join the fight," Lord Cardis said affectionately. "Are you going to be disobedient like your sister?" Lord Cardis asked as he looked at me, locking his eyes with mine.

Who the hell is her ‘sister’? I mumbled, failing to ingest the drama unveiled before me.

"Not at all, Papa!" Lady Claire hastily cried out. "I will never disobey you. I will be the perfect daughter for you, just like Lady Athanasia," Lady Claire said, burying her head into Lord Cardis's chest, staring at me from the corner of her eyes as a mischievous smirk appeared on her face.

"I wasn't aware that you slept with humans,'' I said, scrunching my nose at Lord Cardis.
