Lord Cardis had gathered the most bizarre set of troops. He had summoned the demon monsters with the shapeshifters and the rogue vampires.

I rushed back to the wolf palace after discovering the demon monsters near the pack borders. Lord Cardis had prepared a massive number of troops. No matter how strong Xavier was, the number of wolf knights was not enough to ensure the safety of the commoners.

Though Jenkin had assured me that the royal knights from my kingdom would reinforce the wolves, I got worried, realizing they would have to face Lord Cardis's army to get here.

I returned to the palace. The palace had always been quiet. However, it seemed more gloomy in that war-torn appearance. There was no sign of life here.

The guards and the maids were gone. I couldn't trace Xavier's presence anywhere. The Lords of the other kingdoms were also not in the palace.
