Chapter 31: Chapter 31 - Lord's Return

"My Lady," Lydia called me, gently placing her hand on my shoulder. Concern was written all over her face as I stared at her blankly.

"Pardon, My Lady. I asked you a few times about the flowers, but you seemed lost," Lydia said concernedly.

I glanced at the purple carnations she was holding. Lydia was grooming me as usual after helping me with the shower in the moon suite.

"My Lady, Lord Xavier is returning after a long time. But you look rather tense. Even a few days ago, you were missing Lord Xavier gravely. Are you still feeling unwell?" Lydia asked.

I had always treated Lydia more as my nanny rather than my maid. Hence, she always had the freedom to ask questions concerning my personal life and my relationship with Xavier. However, Lydia could not understand it this time.
