Chapter 12: Chapter 12 - Blooming

The next morning, I was woken up by the luscious aroma of honey tea. I turned to my side. The bed was empty. The lord had left earlier, unlike the other day.

But his scent was still there on the bedsheet. I hugged the blanket, pulling it closer. The familiar fragrance of citrus blended with lotus was there. Remembering the previous night, my face turned red.

My eyes fell on Lydia, who was waiting by my bed with breakfast. She cleared her throat to express her presence. I was startled. I hastily got up shoving the blanket away.

"Ah, Lydia," I cleared my throat and said calmly. I was still embarrassed. I did not expect to get caught by maids in my most unladylike moments.

Lydia quietly added the warm water to the honey and lemon. Her cheeks were red. Who knew what concept she had gotten.
