Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Her Bark is Worse than Her Bite

Artemis' POV

I decide to follow Beck even though I'm burning inside with anger. It's obvious to me that I can't beat him just by fighting him, since one way or another he overpowers me.

If I want to fulfill the mission that I have set for myself, I must get to know Beck. For now, I have no choice but to follow his rules.

"This way," he says.

We go up a flight of stairs until we reach a large room in which all the walls have collapsed to turn the entire floor into a kind of improvised living room. The place has all the comforts for the pack.

Laughter stops as soon as we arrive. I can count several people looking at me with interest, including Willow, who is sitting a short distance away.

"Funny," Sky whispers inside my head, interrupting my thoughts. "Have you noticed? Everyone looks at him as if waiting for his orders, but no one has lost their relaxed attitude."
