Chapter 6: Plans Coming Together Chp 5
Percy POV
"Mom, I will explain," I told her as I led her to the kitchen table and sat her down
I sigh lightly in order to begin
"Mom, while I was in Yancy, I remembered who I was in my previous life. I am still me just with the memories of an 11-year-old. I was also attacked by a monster in school and I managed to trap it and forced it to explain why it was after me. It told me of the great prophecy that I am involved in. A half-blood of the eldest gods, Shall reach sixteen against all odds and see the world in endless sleep, the hero's soul, cursed blade shall reap, a single choice shall end his days, Olympus to preserve or raze," I told her while she had a look of horror on her face
"Mom, I am not going to die as the only lines of this prophecy that affect me are the first two and the last one. But, I don't think it matters anymore due to me remembering my past life," I began to tell her the lie that I came up with that fits my situation
"Percy, this prophecy says that you will die," She said while grabbing my hands and holding them on her own
"Listen when I remembered my past life I think it may have disabled or just made the prophecy useless. I was or rather changed into a Sayian which is the name of the race I was in my past life. With my new powers, I make the gods of this world look weak but I need time to master it," I told her
She looked at me for a few moments before a look of shock came on her face
"Percy you are going to fight them. You can't they will kill you..." She began to panic before I squeezed her hands
"Mom, I have to do this. If they aren't stopped they will continue to hurt people. They are evil, mom. You know the stories, you know what they have done to mortals who so much as have a different opinion than theirs. I have to show them that because they are gods they can't do whatever they want," I told her
"Percy, you are twelve they will kill you or worse," She told me softly
"Mom, if I don't stop them then who will, I have made up my mind about this. I will defeat them but I will spare the good ones however rare they may be. I want you to come with me I have somewhere safe that they won't ever find you. I know that they will try to reach you in order to get to me," I told her as she leaned back
She looked at me for a few minutes
"Percy the person you were..." She began
"I was a slave, mom a powerful slave but a slave nonetheless, also I am pretty much an alien, and yes aliens exist," I answered her much to her dismay
"I died young because of a god and now I have a chance to save people from them," I told her while not really telling her the truth as it is much stranger than anything
"Percy, where will we go?" She asked after a few minutes
"Hold on," I told her as she looked at me confused as we were soon in my home base
I explained to her that we can stay here and no gods will be able to find us however she did agree with me that it will need some major renovation. She is still not fully on board with me going all Kratos on them but she at least understood some of my anger after finding out they leave their children as babies and then expect them to show respect for abandoning them and having to prove themselves to be worthy enough to be recognized as their children.
Getting allies is going to be rather easy but that's for later right now I need to go to Vegas for that casino card.
#Next Morning#
Mom and I just finished packing our stuff. I was a bit surprised when she got an old hunting rifle.
"Mom, why do you have a rifle?" I asked her
"My uncle and I used to go hunting before, he got sick as we mended our relationship together," She answered as we kept going back and forth between the apartment and my home base.
Soon we were dealing with the apartment owner to get her out of paying for it as well as her quitting her job and soon we were back at my base putting everything in place. We placed the furniture down but it smelled like Gabe. So we agreed on going to Ikea for new furniture after I get the casino card.
"Percy, I know that you have a sword and your powers but wouldn't a gun help you as well?" Asked my mom as I fixed the second room of the home base which was rather small all things considered but at least it was bigger than my room in the apartment.
"Mom, guns do work but Celestial Bronze, Imperial Gold, and Stygian Iron weapons are much better as you only need to land a fatal blow in order for monsters to turn to dust," I answered
"Don't worry mom, I will be able to get some of those metals for ourselves and turn them into weapons," I told her as I had looked through the mini shop earlier and there were some things in there that would make my life much easier.
While the mini shop is a product of the full shop being closed it does have some stuff in it to make it worth my while. It is mostly dependent on the universe/multiverse I am in or related to the template I have.
For example, the PJO multiverse has weapons and armors not very good but they are ok for my current situation. It also sells Ambrosia and Nectar which I wonder if due to my Sayian blood I can eat without the issue of burning alive from the inside.
Alongside the rest of the other books. Stuff from the Norse, Shinto, and even Hindu although most of those items go over my head since I have no idea what some of them even are.
There is one glaring issue
They cost store points
Which I am supposed to get from the idle dungeons.
I woke up the system and made it repair it instead of the full store.
Thankfully, it will be done faster than the full store taking around two months.
"Ok, Percy I am ready so what do I do for now?" Asks my mom
"Well, I am going to Las Vegas for the card then we are going to Alaska," I reminded her
"So I just wait here?" She asks a bit confused
"Oh, I forgot I can probably reach Vegas in around three hours running can you make food in the meantime I am going to be hungry?" I asked as she remembered just how much I have to eat now
"You said that card has infinite money?" She asked me again
"Yes, mom I am going to use it to buy stuff in order to feed myself," I told her as she nodded and went to the kitchen in the home base with the stuff that was on the fridge as I went out and started my way to Vegas by running.
Not risking flying yet
So I start running with a map of the country with a highlighted route to Vegas
GPS is not really a thing in 2005 on mobile phones not that I could use them due to the monsters.
After, half an hour, I see on the map that I have barely even advanced 1/10 of the journey.
I keep running and soon spot a small town I notice that there is a park which means that there might be a water fountain.
Soon, I find it and drink a lot of water after purifying it even more and drinking it. After, a few minutes of just drinking water I go running again making sure not to be spotted.
After, a few hours I reach Kansas. I did go back to my home base to eat and rest up for a bit.
After, taking a brief rest for my legs and going to a restroom I was back on my way to Vegas.
After two more hours, I finally reached it but I was too exhausted so I went back to my home base and took a shower which fortunately did wonders for my sore body I ate again which obliterated our food supply, and went to bed still hungry.
#THE NEXT DAY#
I woke up still a bit sore so I took another shower which finally woke me up completely and finally got rid of my soreness.
I soon went out to get one of the casino cards at last. Finding it was rather easy all things considered but there was something off about it which I soon found out as there was news about a sudden storm and I realized that it was Zeus who was even more pissed off.
I just went it got a Lotus which I kept in my hand and soon just walked to one of the attendants telling them that I lost my card and soon I was out with a light blue card with unlimited money. I didn't bother trying to find either Nico or Bianca just yet.
As I went out I quickly ran towards an alley and went into my home base as mom and I went out to buy some stuff for the base primarily better furniture, food, and clothes. As well as basic training equipment.
My mom did bring up a certain point and that was using guns
I mean for her it would be good and all and thanks to my saying/demigod biology I will take no damage to my eardrums and even if I did I can heal better than a human. So no permanent loss of hearing on my part.
In the end, we decided that we would buy some guns just in case something happened to my powers or she was being chased by something. Sure mortal weapons may not be the best against the monsters of PJO.
Also, I have never shot a gun before in my life. Hopefully, thanks to my powers I won't have to deal with the recoil that I heard about.
Mom was going to get the guns tomorrow in Texas as we just went to different ATMs in Vegas to get the money, thankfully, the card number was on the back of the card in greek which was rather strange still it had the numbers on the back and we retrieved enough cash around different ATMs although., I am sure they are called differently here but I honestly didn't care.
I notice that it is still raining and it doesn't look like it's going to stop anytime soon. Mom and I agreed that we are going to be staying here at least a few days before we move as we finish setting up our new home.
