I knew I wasn't alone. Someone was following me. I hid by the tree on my right side. I shouldn't have wandered so far out during a pack war between Black silver and my mother's pack, the Riverside pack.

My left hand was firmly on my dagger as I waited for whoever just made the biggest mistake of their lives to catch up with me.

Slowly, the intruder advanced towards me, I could hear their footsteps until they walked right into the trap I set. I drew my dagger but only used the hilt to knock the intruder down.

"Stay down! Or I will have your head"

I hated this period. I hated it so much that it made my skin crawl. It was the one time every decade that my pack has to dread carefully and walk on eggshells. Everywhere was in chaos and I hated chaos. Even an ill planned war was better than this.
