Back in the throne room, the dying remnants of the anguished screams of Tarragon was heard after she was dragged out, but Dude looked on with indifference. He continued as if someone had just interrupted him to ask of the weather or direction to a place.

Dude in his royal regalia at that moment wished that he could do more to the useless maid than what he had just commanded.

The guards also showed no mercy at all as they dragged her through the palace corridors while she screamed so much that her voice turned hoarse. The maids she had usually gossiped with about Lendon all looked on with pity or indifference. Everyone knew just how bad the temper of their King was, and no one wanted to get thrown even in the remnants of that anger.
