Chapter 49: The Eternal Council

They were staring at the dagger with my family name that belonged to the Eternal Council, and couldn't take out even a word of their mouths. 

The Eternal Council was established in the 1st millennium BC, and the last known Eternal Counselor lived in the 17th century and died at the hands of the Inquisition, leaving its dagger to his heir, Adrian Malone, my father. He gave it to me before he was burned on the bonfire by the same Inquisition. The Eternal Council was established when the vampire families who could reproduce themselves started to die in order to regulate the growing population of new vampires, who couldn't reproduce themselves. They were establishing rules every vampire or Clan should follow, either way, they were killing those who went against the rules. For a pretty long time, the Eternal Council was feared by all the vampires, and yet this name is still feared, even if the council is gone.
