Chapter 149: Escape Plan 6

Cassandra was furious after she got nothing in New York. She was even more enraged when she returned to her military base and saw the chaos that occurred in the place. When she arrived at her camp, she saw his soldiers were tidying up the dried-up corpses of the soldiers.

"What's going on here?" Cassandra asked one of the soldiers who had just covered her comrade's body with a white cloth.

The soldier gave Cassandra a salute before he answered her question. "The vampire ran away. With the other prisoners."

"Where's Max?" Cassandra asked. "Why didn't anyone report to me?"

"The electricity in this place suddenly went out. The backup power isn't working," Max replied quietly from behind Cassandra's back.

Cassandra turned to find Max already wearing a neck brace. "What happened to you?"

"I don't think I need to answer that question. You should know what happened to me from the bodies you saw," Max said.
