30% ENDLESS POTENTIAL IN THE AFTERLIFE / Chapter 3: A Fight To Start Them All

Chapter 3: A Fight To Start Them All

Standing 50 meters away, Ian rubbed off his shock from witnessing such a fearsome boar and began to run towards the danger. After all, if there was a chance that this mystery woman would be able to inform him about this strange new world, he'd gladly help her out.

The mystery woman noticed the pale-skinned man running towards her, and felt the pressure on her increase.

Saving herself was one thing, but now she had to save a crazed man at the same time.

"Flee from here, you fool!"

The woman screamed out to the charging man to no avail. Instead, Ian instinctively dug his hands into the ground and prepared to use his first skill, Rock Throw. Besides his Blade Slash, this was the only attack skill Ian assumed he could use safely.

*FWOOSH*

The rock was blasted towards the boar at 50 miles per hour, quickly making contact.

{Critical hit! x2 damage has been applied}

The boar started to roar as a portion of its defense had been destroyed. All parties involved were surprised by the effect of the mere rock.

"How could he be so lucky...?"

The woman couldn't believe such a rare occurrence could happen during a small fight like this. Critical hits in this world were known to be quite rare, as raising the potential stat was excruciatingly difficult.

Pushing her thoughts aside, she raised her sword back up and glided her blade through the distracted boar's head. With its defense completely erased, the boar exploded into pristine white particles.

{Boar has been eliminated. Awarding 50 EXP to the slayers of the boar.}

Familiar blue screens popped up in front of Ian once more, as he felt a rush of strength flow into his body. He felt as if he could fight a tiger and come out unscathed. "So, who do you think you are? Interfering with a fight while only using a rock. Don't expect to be lucky enough to get a critical hit all the time."

The woman lowered her sword as she began to pester Ian for taking such a foolish chance. Despite her concern, however, she was thankful for having someone to back her up in such a fight that would've taken her an hour or two more to finish.

"Forgive me, I needed to test out my new skills. I have just arrived in this world and need an explanation as to what I should expect from this new world."

Staying as respectful as possible to this woman, Ian clasped his hands together as he proceeded to squeeze some information in exchange for assisting with the defeat of the boar.

Meanwhile, in a different section of the grasslands, a fight broke out in a close-by village...

"I don't have the money to help you with this quest! Please just leave me alone already!"

A female mage slammed her staff onto a Royal Knight's head while screaming to shoo away the forces coming to take her to battle. It was all for naught though, as the knights began to work together in order to push over to the village's Warp Pad.

"O' Afterlife, find me a powerful knight who will be able to take down any foe and save me from these vile knights."

The mage made a prayer, which generated a mystical light to erupt from her heart and travel through the skies.
