"I think we need to try to distinguish what's residual haunting and what's intelligent haunting." Cain's gaze swept the barren horizon of Black Canyon. "I don't think we'll get the answers until we figure that out."

Kerry nodded. He was right. The EVPs they'd caught on digital were a strange mix of information and useless babble up to now. "We also have what seems like three different events." She counted them off on her fingers. "The bar fight and shooting, the mine collapse, and Mary by the well."

"Any ideas?" Sammy asked.

Kerry thought about all the evidence they'd caught in the tavern. "The missing money and treasure are the key to the shooting."

Amir hopped down from the back of the van where he'd been setting up monitors. "Do we think the money is still here?"
