“Th-th-that’s im-impossible! Sh-sh-she’s my d-d-daughter!”

“I’m sorry to break it to you but either you’re delusional, or you’ve been cheated on!” All three women pivoted their heads sharply and glared at me like I said something erroneous, but in fact, I was just making an acute observation. The child’s complexion was much darker than her mother’s, and their features disharmonious.

“OW! What was that for?” I turned to Arisara after feeling the impact of a chopstick stabbing me in the shoulder.

“That’s not even how pregnancy works!” Arisara frustratingly massaged her temples.

“Years later, I didn’t think I still had to babysit you, but here we are!” she admonished.

Rubbing my shoulder in lingering discomfort, I redirected my attention back to Luna Ploysai who was analyzing the woman’s ‘daughter’ in a poised manner like a proficient investigator.
