Chapter 476: Ready to go
"Mommy are you and Daddy no longer busy?" asked Joy with a very serious look on her face. As much as she wanted to go home, she didn't want to end up going home and having nothing to do since her parents were still busy. At least over here she got to play with her uncles and Aunt Lulu, and her grandparents and her grandpappy had been very sweet, sweeter than usual, he even let her bake with her grandmother in his kitchen which was very odd.
If Joy had given everyone's over extensive attention towards her a second thought, she would have been sure that there was something they were all not telling her, something that they were hiding from her, and if they were hiding it from her, it had to be bad.
But at the end of the day Joy knew that they all loved her and cared for her, and they were just making sure that she didn't feel unhappy.
"Yes my darling, we are no longer busy and we have so much time for you." said Natasha as she smiled.
"Are you sure mommy...?" asked Joy in uncertainty.
"Because you and daddy didn't tell me that I would spend the weekend with grandma and grandpa." said Joy with a sad frown on her face and Natasha just felt like pinching her darling little baby's cheeks.
"Oh I know my darling and I'm so sorry about that, but something very urgent came up, but I promise you that there's nothing left, we won't ever do anything so sudden like that again, next time we will tell you if you need to go and stay with your grandparents for a while okay?" asked Natasha with a smile.
"Okay mommy." said Joy as she nodded and Natasha gave her another kiss on the forehead that made Joy giggle.
"I hope that you had a great time over here with your grandparents and grandpappy." said Natasha as she smiled.
"Oh I did mommy, I had so much fun, I ate lots of cookies and brownies and drank lots of soda!" said Joy happily as Margaret's eyes went wide and Natasha caught the look in her eyes and she laughed.
"Oh really now?" asked Natasha as Joy nodded.
"Natasha, it's not what you think, she didn't only eat all that, I promise you." said Margaret.
"Oh it's fine Aunt, I know that there's no way you would let her eat only that, but it's fine, you can eat a bit of junk food... sometimes." said Natasha as she smiled and Margaret smiled in relief.
"Oh and Uncle Nine, Charlie, and Michael are here, even Aunt Lulu and uncle Benjamin are here too." said Joy as it was like being home away from home.
"I see..." said Natasha, now that explained why their house was so empty, everyone had come to seek refuge over here; she couldn't blame them though. Yesterday was something else entirely... she was in the worst mood of her entire life, almost worst than when her dad died. If anything, she could say that she was grateful for their consideration.
"Dear why don't you go and pack your stuff so you can be ready to go." said Margaret as Joy looked at her and she smiled.
"Okay grandma, I'll be right back mommy." said Joy as Natasha put her down and she smiled as Joy ran back into the house.
Lulu was coming out of the kitchen when she suddenly saw Joy swish right past her as she was surprised.
"Joy slow down, where are you rushing to?" she called as Joy continued running up the stairs.
"I'm going to pack my things Aunt Lulu, my mommy and daddy are already here." replied Joy as she shouted so Lulu could hear her.
"Natasha is here already?" asked Lulu in surprise as she didn't waste any time before running out quickly to see Natasha.
"Natasha!!!" called Lulu as soon as she opened the front door and both Natasha and Margaret turned to look at her.
Before Natasha could even react Lulu had ran to her and thrown herself on Natasha, causing Natasha to almost loose her footing but luckily she didn't.
"Oh Natasha my dear, I am so sorry, so, so sorry." said Lulu as she hugged Natasha and Margaret shook her head, her daughter could be so energetic sometimes, she could have slipped and fell with all that running she did while she could have just walked and gotten to the same place.
"Are you okay? Do you feel well? Have you eaten today?" asked Lulu in a worried tone that made Natasha smile, at the end of the day, Lulu just cared about her, and that made her feel nice.
"I'm fine Lulu, really." said Natasha as Lulu broke their hug.
"Are you sure?" asked Lulu as she looked at her with a worried look on her face.
"I am very sure." replied Natasha with a smile.
"Oh that great, where's my idiot brother, I need to have a word with him." said Lulu as Natasha laughed, knowing fully well that it wasn't just a word Lulu wanted to have with her brother.
"Well he's still with Grandfather." replied Natasha.
"Oh that's good, he better be giving him a piece of our mind, oh I trust Grandfather, he knows just what to say." said Lulu as she nodded and Natasha laughed, Lulu had a way of making her laugh with everything she said.
Whether she admitted it or not, Natasha felt very nice deep down that Dom's own sister supported her more than him. If she had always thought that she was alone, that wasn't the truth, there were always people who cared for her, and loved her.
"I'm serious, Dominic deserved a serious scolding, I also made sure to give that woman a piece of my mind as well." said Lulu as Margaret frowned and shook her head, she didn't think that now was the right time to mention Lia. Natasha had only just got here, and talking about Lia would be like firing the bullet all over again.
"You talked to Lia?" asked Natasha.
"Of course I did, what she did to you is unforgivable, all this time she's been taking us all for fools, she's been lying to us, pretending to be someone she's not, pretending to be out friend when she's not... I can forgive everything, but deception... No." said Lulu solemnly.
"That I agree with you, but let's not talk about Lia right now." said Natasha with a frown as Lulu understood perfectly well.
"I'm done packing mommy!" said Joy as she walked out the front door dragging her suitcase behind her as Margaret went to go help her.
"We'll talk later then?" asked Lulu as Natasha nodded and Joy ran to her, but as soon as she was about to give her a hug Joy got distracted by something, or rather someone.
"Daddy!!" called Joy in excitement as she ran to meet Dom who had just crossed the street.
"Hello Princess." said Dom as he carried her in his arms and gave her a tight hug, if he was feeling down before, which he certainly was, all his negative feelings had disappeared once he saw the happily excited look on his daughter's face.
"Daddy I missed you." said Joy as she gave him a tight hug.
"I missed you too princess, I'm sorry that you had to go to your grandparent's house unannounced, your mommy and I were just so busy all of a sudden that it was better you didn't come home or else you would be all alone." said Dom as he explained quickly, he had felt guilty that he had to send Joy away, but he knew that it was for the best.
He could at least handle Natasha when she was in such an angry state like she was yesterday, but he did not think that he could handle having to take care of Joy and making sure she was okay as well.
"It's alright daddy, mommy already told me and I understand." said Joy as she smiled and looked at her father's face.
"Thanks for understanding princess, I promise you that won't ever happen again." said Dom as he smiled.
"Okay." said Joy as she smiled, she didn't need to doubt his words, her father never broke his promises like he said.
"So how are you my princess? Did you have fun today?" asked Dom as he smiled and Joy nodded excitedly, he could tell that she had so much to say and tell him about her day and he could not wait to hear it.
"I had so much fun daddy, but I will tell you later." said Joy as she smiled, remembering that she had rushed to him and he hadn't even had a chance to say hello to grandma and Aunt Lulu.
"Alright princess, I can't wait." said Dom as he smiled softly.
"Hi mom." said Dom as he walked over to his mother still carrying Joy in his hands as he gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"Hello Dominic how are you?" asked Margaret as she smiled at her son.
