Chapter 429: Bad mood
"Yes Chloe, I received your email, so what do you have for me?" asked Natasha with a smile as she was speaking to Chloe over the phone.
"Yes, so well if you would take a look at the email I sent you, you would see that I have reviewed the candidates that you have shortlisted and I choose the best out of those you picked" said Chloe with a proud smile on her face.
"Yes I am taking a look at it now, and everything looks good" replied Natasha with a smile as she closed her inbox, she would take a closer look at it later.
"I am glad it does" replied Chloe happily.
"Yes, so is there anything else we need to worry about before everything takes off?" asked Natasha as she absentmindedly tidied her desk that was full with papers, most of which were Joy's playful drawings which she had drawn while playing with Natasha's stationery supplies.
"Well no, everything is going good with LFF" said Chloe with a smile as she handed a grumpy Ethan his homework that she had just checked, to which he frowned angrily at her and pushed his homework away as she shot him a stern look.
"LFF?" asked Natasha in confusion.
"Yes LFF, did you forget, LFF stands for Lexington's frozen foods, I told you that saying Lexington's Frozen Foods all the time was a hand full and we needed an abbreviation and hence why I came up with LFF" said Chloe as she smiled and Natasha laughed.
"Right I remember now, LFF does sound a little funny now doesn't it?" asked Natasha as she laughed.
"It might, but it serves its purpose, which is to shorten the name of our store" said Chloe with a smile.
"That is true" replied Natasha as Ethan got up angrily and stormed out of Chloe's office.
"Ethan you better not get your school uniform dirty, or else you know who will be washing it" said Chloe as she was sure Ethan heard her.
"Wait is Ethan at the office with you?" asked Natasha.
"Well yes, they had an early day at school today, and Neil is on a business trip, Betty has gone on her leave, so there's no one at home to take care of him, so I just brought him here so I could watch over him while I work" said Chloe.
"But he's in a bad mood as always" said Chloe with a sigh.
"I mean I kind of understand why, let's be honest the farm is not a fun place for a child, there's nothing to do, we don't even have animals over there for him to play with" said Natasha.
"True, but he's not a baby anymore, he tells me that all the time, so he should act like the little man he is and be a good boy till I knock off at 4" said Chloe as she shook his head.
"I'm kind of on Ethan's side with this one Chloe, what exactly is he supposed to do while you work?" asked Natasha.
"Well he has lots to do, for one his homework" said Chloe as Natasha laughed.
"No wonder he's in a bad mood, he needs something fun to do" said Natasha as she laughed.
"Well there is nothing of that here" said Chloe.
"But where is Pluto?" asked Natasha.
"Oh she went with Neil, there would be no one to take care of her at home, and I certainly won't spend my free time at home looking after her" said Chloe as Natasha got a notification on her phone as she checked it quickly.
"Ahh I see, well change of plans Chloe, I am heading to the office now, I just got a message from your mom about the fresh milk deal" said Natasha as she stood up from her desk.
"Oh I see, she just sent me a message right now too" said Chloe as she texted her mom back.
"Yes so see you in an hour tops" said Natasha.
"Alright drive safe" replied Chloe with a smile.
"Thank you Chloe, I will" said Natasha as she smiled and Chloe ended the call.
Natasha put her phone in her pocket and packed up her laptop and walked out of her office down the stairs when the front door suddenly opened and Joy cam rushing in with a great speed.
"Mommy!!" said Joy as she instantly ran to Natasha and hugged her as soon as she saw her.
"Hello my darling how are you?" said Natasha with a smile as she bent down and hugged Joy as Joy gave her a big kiss on the cheek.
"Hello mommy, I am very, very good" said Joy as she giggled, she looked very cheerful today, which meant she had a good day at school, but wait, it was only 11am, what was she doing back home so early in the first place?
"What are you doing back home so early darling? Hi Nine" said Natasha as she stood up and smiled as she waved at Nine who waved back at her with a soft smile.
"Well we had an early day at school today" replied Joy as she smiled and Natasha looked at her.
"Why?" asked Natasha in confusion, she wasn't informed that all the grades would be having an early day today.
"Well I don't really know, but Clarita told me that Prince heard from Leon that he heard one of our classmates saying that she heard that Miss Honey was speaking to another teacher because the upstairs bathroom for the seniors flooded and it needs to be fixed before we can all go back to our classes" explained Joy as Natasha nodded.
"Ahh I see" said Natasha.
"Any word of when it would be fixed?" asked Natasha.
"Miss Honey said that it should be fixed by 5pm latest, and everyone should be back to school tomorrow morning" replied Nine as he handed Joy her schoolbag as she smiled.
"Ahh well then that's good, thank you for telling me Nine" said Natasha with a smile.
"Anytime" replied Nine as he smiled.
"I'll see you later Joy, I have to get back to the office" said Nine as he smiled.
"Okay Bye Uncle Nine see you" replied Joy with a giggle as Nine smiled and he walked out the front door.
"Mommy are you going out?" asked Joy as she looked at Natasha.
"Well yes I am, I am going to the farm I have a meeting" said Natasha as if she had known that Joy would be back early she would have changed the appointment to spend more time with her at home.
"Aww but I wanted you to help me with my homework" said Joy with a frown.
"I'm sorry darling, I can help you when I come back" said Natasha as Joy frowned, she didn't like this at all, she wanted to spend more time with Natasha.
"But I thought that we could spend more time together since school ended early" said Joy with a frown as Natasha felt bad seeing her look like that.
"I'm really sorry my darling, I want to spend more time with you too, I would take you with me but it might be boring over there, and you just came back from school" said Natasha.
"No Mommy, I want to go with you to the farm, please can I go with you?" asked Joy as she pleaded with Natasha, she didn't mind that it would be boring at all, she just didn't want to be home alone, and since it was very early, she was sure that there would be no one home.
"Pretty please mommy let me go with you, I don't want to stay at home alone" said Joy.
"Aunt Lulu isn't back yet and Uncle Charlie, Michael and Nine are all at work, Daddy is busy at work, and Alfred went to the store, and Meggie isn't feeling well after Daddy took her to the VET to get her shots, so can I go with you?" asked Joy as she pleaded.
"Oh well alright my darling you can come with me" said Natasha as Joy smiled happily.
"Yayyy, thank you mommy" said Joy as she smiled and Natasha smiled.
"But before we leave you need to eat something, we might be gone for a long while" said Natasha.
"Don't worry Mommy, I'm not hungry, and I have my lunch from school in my bag" said Joy as she pointed to her schoolbag.
"Are you sure it's enough?" asked Natasha as Joy nodded.
"Well alright then, let's go" said Natasha.
"Yayyyy" said Joy as she happily ran out the front door to Natasha's car as Natasha shook her head and laughed at her as she followed behind her.
"All buckled in?" asked Natasha as she looked at Joy who was already in her car seat.
"Yes mommy" said Joy as she nodded and smiled.
"Alright then, here we go" said Natasha as she smiled and started the car as she pulled out of the driveway and drove away.
